    nice run Ken!
my DF copy doesn't have trim tabs, and COG is at 18-19%, Feigao 8XL and K42 carbon prop, speed is pretty much the same as you but amp draw is half of what you have, up to now prop was parallel to keel and I'm planning to lift it up 1 or 2mm to "lighten" the noze.
if you put your tabs flat they shouldn't create any drag, but moving the COG further in the back should help a lot to reduce amp draw!

Good video,it seemed to be running ok,maybe a touch wet.
I have the same hull, same colour.
I will be cutting the wood stringers out completely and using a light mount. It will be lighter than yours.
      2100kv Mega plus a 5000 4S 25c pack.
Mine will rip on a X442 prop.
I can imagine your cofg would be well out with the bat. up front.
My motor will be as far forward as poss. with the bat, behind almost in the middle of the hull.
If you can lighten yours up,it will be quicker.
These hulls are strong and well made, the stringers were made for nitro motors and not needed for FE.
If you can get the shaft/motor aligned perfectly you only need a small plywood tbar jobby
get rid of those trimtabs, saving weight again..
Mine last one didnt need turn fins either.
      Brod..
      Slow gets boring fast.

OOPS! sorry I measured it a long time ago it is at 190mm witch equals 25% and not 19%, shame! I knew there was 19 somewhere in the number!

Trim tabs are OK but how do you have them set up.. neutral/positive?? A Prather 225 prop may make this rock and roll and your speeds are very similar to what I run with no melt downs. see my build on this hull . But it all comes down to speed and duration time

I find the prather 225 and 230 quite stable props. The ones that made my mono do wheelstands and torque roll were bigger 3 bladers.

Tyler, when I say rock and roll, it is an old fart statement in the vernicular that it may work.

Hi Ken, good looking build sir!!
IME with 2 degrees of up in the strut that thing should be running loose with the CG at 28% in those conditions in your video. It looks like you have it pinned down pretty good.
Are the tabs adjusted down below the bottom of the boat?

The tabs are mounted flush with the bottom and at 0 degrees, but noticed that with the strut being up 2 degrees I might be fighting the two forces, if that makes sense?

The Prather 225 sounds what I'm looking for as long as the himodel can take it, rock and roll would be right

I'm glad to hear that the 28% is good, I did have it at 31% as mentioned befor but ran way to wet so moved everything as far back as possible.

This is only my second mono as my SV27 was my first but have to say this thing sticks to the water compared to the SV, guess this is why I want to run this hull fast, oh ya and see if I can beat Peter against his Sniper.

                          Thanks

It does seem a little off to me. it runs well, a little wet but not bad. are your lipos in good shape? also did you play with any timing in the speed control. and if you can please post a pic of where you have the setup now to get 28% cog if you don't mind. the lowest i can get is 29% 4s1p and little over 30% with 4s2p.

Lipos are new 2s 4900 polyquest 25c, the timing is set at 0 degrees, the motor mount is built to hold the motor and esc making it a drop in unit. With 2 - 2s packs I get the cg at 28%.

There is your problem...no timing. Even the AQ ESC for the UL1 has 10 degrees from the factory.

                                7-10 would be good.
