Jason, I ran 11 test runs in all with 2 sets of batteries, The batteries were warmed up before the runs. In all about 12 min in total just looking over my eagle tree graph times. What esc are you using?

[QUOTE=ksm2001;98995]Ok, had a chance to do some test runs yesterday water was almost glass smooth. I removed the trim tabs but had to add 3oz of weight to the back of the transom to keep my cg at 28%. Batteries used were Polyrc 4900 4s1p, 25/50c.
Prop = x442
Strut = 2 degrees positive
Timing = 1 degrees
Max amps = 120
Rpm = 30000
Speed= 42mph
for your help.

I like the look of this setup.
I can go 28% Cg and x442
Strut 2deg positive ?? This is prop end up 2 deg right ??
With your boat keel on a flat table how high is the center of the drive dog off the table.
Shaft center line to keel line is the measurement I am after here.
Thanks for any help you may offer.
See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood
Hi Simon, I just checked the measurements here for you and with the hull siting flat on a table, length of strut from end (drive dog end) to against transom is exactly 6cm, the center point measured off the table is exactly 1cm at the drive dog end and 9mm on the transom so it's 1mm positive (up), guess its closer to 1 degree. This gives me the best speed with the least amount of amp draw. on smooth water.

I am going to chime in for Ken we both run together , he is on holidays right now and may not respond for a few days but yes he does run a eagletree I am sure he will respond as soon as he gets this ......
Ken, have you tested the prather 225 yet? (or have you even ordered it yet)
I just ordered 8XL and 4/8 himodel and thinking what prop to start with.
I have the s215,s220 from prather and Octura x440,x637,642 and 645.
If you have eagle three data on any of these, please post it.
thanks,
Pate
Hi Guys Just got back form my vacation with the wife and kids from Jasper National Park, included a pic of a nice boat pond called Maligne Lake.
I got a chance to post a reply back a couple days back on the 10 gauge wire I used on my ESC, not sure if it really matters so much either but keep them as short as possible if you can.
I don't have any Prather props but as for the 642 boat running wet was drawing around 120 amps. But not sure now since the trim tabs are removed but it will be less.
As for sealing the esc I use Plasticoat and paint it on, this worked very well for me, I never did sand the fets down but instead used the Arctic Silver Thermal epoxy and this worked very good. But sanding till they are level will work well also.
New guy, need some setup help. 29" DF knockoff question
Bought the boat used setup is 9xl, x440, Rhinno 4900 5s 20c, turnigy 100 amp.
Plenty of speed but runs too hot the bat is going to die if I keep this setup. I am willing to start from scratch to keep the same speed, estimate in the high 40's with about 5 min runtime.
What esc, prop and bat would a Nue 1515 1y require and is this the best way to go?

my opinion is that 5s is a little to much for a 9xl which is somewhere near 1800kv and the 1515 1y will be worse at 2200kv as far as heat
just go to some good 30c 5000mah 4s batts (turnigy from hobby city) ..then you can run 4s2p and should run high 40's and if you want to do just a few speed runs throw the 5s back in always go for higher c rating
