I?ve just started my own build and had great ideas for show-quality finishes, but I see I need to step it up :P
I'm trying. Arthritus really hampering me prepping of this thing. Primed the hatch with Epifanes Epoxy Primer, and have most of it faired to 400grit. Did some work on the hull this morning too. No worthy pics though.

Top-sides primered. A little bit of filling on the wetted-surfaces, then it will be primered. And then the arduous task of 400g wetsanding to final prepped surface.

I find sanding/priming calming. How’s the arthritis doing?

Easing up. Comes in bouts. I've been taking Glocosamine & choline, as well as drinking a Boron solution. Getting into shape as well. Started with stretching routines, and got back into skateboarding, after a 35-year hiatus. Weights soon...

Yes, the routine stretching is proving invaluable to me. Keep up the good work, Shawn

Squeezed out 20 push-ups last night. It was everything I had to do them.

This build has been super inspiring. Thank you for sharing the process with us. I've learned so much flipping through this great thread, we can't thank you enough Bumble.

By chance, do you have any threads or build series detailing your CF work? It's one thing to read your explanations (which are fantastic in themselves) but to see it can really take the learning curve to straight vertical.

Please keep us posted on how this build is going! You have us hooked man!

Thank you very much for your praise.

This boat, is dedicated to all of you here (and gone), who inspired me for many decades.

I remember reading about youz, and wanting to meet and race with youz, everytime a new RC Boat Modeller would come out.

The build is a culmination of all of you guys' ideas; with some of my own, to add to the inspiration pool.

The Christmas Holiday is when I will continue sanding & prepping, to have it painted in the spring.

                    Cheers to all.

man, amazing amazing work! I,m a member of the forum since 2009 and always wanted to be on a position in life where it's possible to start an endeavor like this. Your build made me remember the excitement i used to felt when i discovered this hobby and the forum. Countless hours just "eating" people knowledge on their builds, wondered by the skill presented and will to overcome challenges and make something better. it's a beautiful "open source" community where knowledge is shared and the community make something better together.
I hope i finally start my build soon and being a skateboarder myself i'm very happy that you are back! Enjoy every moment.

                      Happy holidays.

I've also been working on Footy sailboat prototype. Fairing a NACA 006 foil plug today.

It should be all prepped for this month. Starboard-sponson wetted-surface just to do. Then paint $$$.
It 'll be one main colour with accent colours, leaving room for mock-sponsor decalling.

I cleaned up the hull and deck, then will re-reinforce areas where I removed bad lay-ups. I will then prep the entire lay-ups of the hull & deck, and add a layer of 6oz. carbon fiber cloth to them both, then prep the seam for joining and reinforcing propperly.

Build is looking great, beautiful work! I have yet to start my build, busy with work. That said, you have inspired me to split my hull as well. I found the same shoddy lay-up work in my CFK 114. Between being able to fix all that, do a proper lay-up and how much easier it will make installing all the mounts and hardware, I think it's worth the extra effort. What did you find was the best cutting tool to make this cut?

                                Thanks!
