Here's an overall shot of how it looks. It has a wood retaining tab in the front, and two magnets a third of the way back. It physically can't come off now short of breaking something...

I made a video of how to setup the cowl screw and nut. It shows the complete attachment design for my custom stealth cowl. Here's a link to the video...

I also picked up an ABC H-7 prop and prepped it. I've watched a lot of great reviews about this prop on the JAE 33FE. Next run I'll test it on laps...

            Hi Sam,

Thanks for the detailed write up - really helpful. Also enjoy your videos, you will be happy to hear i am a subscriber!

One thing i wanted to ask, how much rudder angle does your setup allow/need? I have been putting my rudder together with basically the same set up as yours (bellows inside the boat) but find at the extremes of travel the pushrod binds with the side of the transom. Is this an issue with your setup?

            Thanks!

              Thank you very much...

You need very little rudder travel on a Zippkits rigger. I only have a 1/4" travel each way, and I'm running at 65% dual rates running laps in the seventies...

I tested an ABC H-7 prop on my JAE 33FE. I think I've found the sweet spot with this setup...

I love my H-7 on the Jae. I had Mark Sholund pitch and cup one for me and it runs great with it. After 30 years doing the boats I am done working on my own props and leave it to the experts.

Nice run, she's fast and pretty.. Have you tried a SAW run without the turn fin on? You might pick up some significant speed

What did you change? Prop and turn fin?

Just the turn fin, from .7 degrees positive to 1.0 degree positive

Have not tried that. Actually a bit concerned about how it would handle
