No problem. I believe I clipped marker number 3.

Ah! I'm not used to markers being out there because I don't race. Duh.

How fast is your rigger in lap trim?

Haven’t really worked a lot on the boat because it’s just a fun runner but I have hit 85mph. It’s a great boat to run.

This is a simple thing, but a sharp file is more accurate than a sanding block. I've filed a nice flat angle on the bottom sheeting and the front nose block former.

Fits like this make for stronger epoxy joints...

Doing whatever it takes using clamps, tape and weights, to epoxy the transom and transom doubler in. Using thirty minute epoxy here...

I'm videoing a build series on YouTube simultaneously along with this thread. A link to the next video will be the easiest thing to do here...

I prefer to epoxy the motor mount to bare wood on the floor of the tub, so I'm fitting everything before I seal the inside of the tub.

Here's the tubing sizes I use and a piece of 3/16" rod for what I call the alignment stack.

I put the 3/16" rod in the motor coupling, and stack these tubes to align the motor to the stuffing tube.

For most builds I would cut 1" long pieces of all these tubing sizes. Including the stuffing tube size. Then use that stack to locate and cut an accurate slot in the bottom of the tub, aligned to the center of the motor and mount.

In this case, the slot is already laser cut. So I can stack a length of 9/32" tube onto the stuffing tube (shown with pencil), and that 9/32" tube gets epoxied into the tub. I did have to widen the slot and the hole thru the former. It was laser cut to fit the 1/4" stuffing tube.

Here's the tub setup on blocks, with one side of the ski and the ski bottom shimmed in place.

This let's me get a final accurate bend on the stuffing tube. It's actually a fairly tight fit under there.

I also found with this mockup I needed to lower the motor angle one degree to 17 degrees. The stuffing tube fit inside the ski better at a slightly shallower angle.

This is an accurate way to align everything. Here I've marked the motor mount location.
