I like it Randy, the hull bottom looks like it will be easy to sharpen up.

They allways look there best when the paint is fresh. Racing is rough on them but that is what winter is for, new paint!

Hey!!
HEY!!! Count me in!! I love my BBY MTH and will go all the way down to so-cal just to play with you guys..Randy,
I was just reading about your sale on RRR, and I got to thinking when we first met... It was at some race somewhere, and I had a piece'O cr@p something or other, and I was charging the boat off my car. I had a dead car that afternoon.....
The SLOBS would love to have you and Wilmer come down. The First Annual Santee Sport Scale Hydro competition will be in late summer, so let's get to building a little SCALE boat. 1:24 or 1:25 scale. You have to use the 3000 Kv Mystery motor and a plastic prop. 2S1P. It has to look like a "real" full-sized boat. Anything else goes. Remember, we're all about "No Rules" so we keep things "casual", if you get my drift. Closer to scale gets you more coolness points.
Normally, the losers have to buy the winner lunch. This might be a big enough deal that we will have to make that the losers buy the winner dinner! ;

I'd even build another since mine is fitted for a 540/05 big block..Comment

Nice!
The new shovel will be shweet!!
Randy and I discovered through testing, that the micro hydro platform would benefit from deeper tunnels, so Randy made the sponsons deeper ultimately making the tunnel bigger (trapping more air)..
The design has been proven stable up to 53mph during controlled testing, and holds a trap speed of 50mph, a SAWS record..
A great design as it runs as a TRUE hydroplane.. (Not a tail dragger)

I’ve had the occasional blow-over with the MHZ Micro Shovel (DEEP tunnel) using the SSSH motor and a small 2S LiPo. In re-finishing mine (Team Arrrggggg did me in), I’m thinking about adding an air dam. The MTH has a really shallow tunnel and has never so much of a hint at coming off the water. Somewhere in between should be about right. It looks like Randy is on the right path.
P.S. None of my little hydros drag their tail (except that inexpensive Oberto I got for the kids to beat about the pond).A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

Thanx for the info Jet!!! I think Randy's IS somewhere in between, and I'm sure your little hydros are NO tail draggers either..I’ve had the occasional blow-over with the MHZ Micro Shovel (DEEP tunnel) using the SSSH motor and a small 2S LiPo. I did a little more work on the dropped Sponson hydro today I am going to do a test pull and see how tight the seam is while I pull a few Christmas gifts for my customers.. The 20%off sale on hulls and hardware is working
