I finished the hatch seal system today. I was sidetracked for a couple weeks plus i didnt have a fiberglass hatch for it. I had to reinforce the hatch with carbon, it was quite flimsy. I cut a window out of the cf so thrilled gps will still read. I tested it. Yes it was quite funny how I tested it. If any of my neighbors saw me, the think I'm crazy. I put the gps in boat, put hatch on. Went jog around a bit. Top speed... 7.8mph. O and it was storming. So yep, I'm an idiot. Lol. Anyway, here's the final completed interior pic. Notice the little strips of velcro on the rails? Thought it was a neat idea to put them there to hold the battery straps out the way when installing the batteries.

Looks good Trav, nice and clean. Your 'window' has my curiosity. How did you work that into an existing hatch? I was going to sandwich one between the ply layers of the R-42 hatch but now I have a clear canopy/capsule.

Well, it doesn't look real good at the moment. I mixed p black paint into the epoxy and rolled it over the white part of the fiberglass then I left the carbon a little wet purposely for extra strength. It didn't turn out to good. It'll serve it's purpose but I'm gonna
Fix it after the epoxy cures.

Here's the hatch. I think it looks like crap because the black is too shiny and my free hand cutting didn't turn out too straight. Guess it's a tradeoff to be able to use a gps and still have a reinforced hatch with the materials I have on hand. I'll airbrush it a flat black an it should look a little better.

Need some help deciding on a color for the hatch. I got this new green I used on my rivercat. ..I just repainted it. Then I have this orange. Or I could get something else. Ideas?

                The orange....

Looking great so far! Not a fan of mismatched colors on hatch and boat. Can't you get a CF hatch? Or paint the entire boat all one color? Looks like a toy when it's got a bright hatch like that.

Well I'm not a fan of it either but if I want to run gps (a must for what I'm doing) then I cannot run a carbon hatch. I had one that came with the boat but I swapped it for the fiberglass one so the gps would read. I do have a carbon one and fiberglass one for my rivercat....but that's that boat.

What if I paint the whole topside of the boat orange and leave the bottom and sides carbon? I also have masking templates already cut out....I could use those to mask off the fightercat emblem in the top and carbon would show through in the shape of the fightercat logo. Just an idea. .....

I say orange. Orange is fast. Good luck with the run.

Maiden voyage today. The results were quite dissapointing. Did 38.2mph.everything worked perfectly. Drove well, turned pretty decent, no water in the hull and cooling system worked. I did later find out I was only getting 56% throttle. I'm new to swordfish esc's so it's a learning curve. (I was in a very small pond too) Here's the awesome video lol...

I read somewhere I think over on kbb that with spektrum radio's you have to set the throttle end point out to 150% to get the swordfish ESC to get full throttle

The new software version fixed this issue....if he has an updated controller.
