Haha. Just remembered this too. Always make sure you zero out your machine before running a command set. Unless you find watching a 3000 pound machine jumping off the floor amusing . Been there done that.

PDF to DXF can be tricky. PDFs are just raster images while DXF is vector. I went thru this process when making the skin kits. What are you trying to convert, Darryl??

I've converted pdf to dwg. Once you have a dwg it's no biggy to export to dxf. The trouble is that if the pdf is actually a scan it becomes a million little segments in Autocad. A simple curve might actually become 60 bits. Then the machine would try to cut that curve in 60 little movements. Ack.

If you know someone with autocad, see if they'll duplicate your sketch. Export to dxf is a breeze.

Best way I've found is using a software with tracing capability (Adobe Illustrator, Corel, etc). Set the threshold so you limit the segments (what Terry was talking about). Then just export as DXF. Simpler said than done.

I cut a boat for flraptor the other night. Laser was running well (that's not always the case!!)

Also, started the stuffing tube install on the first boat and began machining the one piece strut/rudder for both boats.

Got my kit today! Very impressed with the kit and packing, I'll get started when I get back from Colorado week after next. Pete, if you're doing a Strut/Rudder assembly just for this boat, I'll take one! Let me know what ya gotta have for it.

Oh one other thing, Do I still need to get the UL-1 rear section for your new cowl or is your new cowl all one piece?

Glad you received everything intact. I ordered a wood kit last year and all the pcs were scattered in the box and warped. It's one thing for skins to warp, but frames pcs??!! GRRRRRR!!! Anyways, I didn't want that to happen, so I gave it a college effort on the packing.

I'd love to offer the once pc hardware mount, but it's just not economical at this point (see attached). Too many surfaces to square up and too many operations. Maybe when I get the Tormach up and running at the shop. We'll see....

The cowl is complete (nose and hatch). Not necessary to purchase anything else.

Whiplash frames always seem to be warped. Another reason to buy P-sport from you. I'm tapped out right now after buying some batteries. We'll see what happens in the next little while.

Nice work on that bracket. Slick! I bet you $10 the Chinese will knock it off within a year.

nice work Shooter. was the bracket cut from a block of alluim, or is it channel?
also can you bolt a MS rudder up to it ?

It is made from channel, but the extrusion isn't square, so you have to mill every surface. Hopefully I will have some updates over the weekend.
