Atleast your mastering drilling and tapping holes! To make like life easier next time you have to buy some get machine taps, there meant for use on mills and cnc machines. They usually have only two flutes and have a chip breaker built into the design. You can run the tap straight through without having to back turn at all. Once you get good you can even use them in a hand drill (for 1/4" and bigger). They start the hole super easy, once I started using them I never looked back, they seem to last forever to. I hate having to use standard taps now! You always seem to be tapping holes so I thought it would be worthwhile mentioning.
The trays look great, should help stiffer the hull up to. Your almost there!

I use my drill press for all the holes so there nice and straight . Use craftsman brand taps because they seem to work pretty darn good for the price and readily available . I have over 100 taps on my current 3/32 tap still going good !

16,000mah in the hole with room for another 24,000mah comfortably. In a 36" cat lol

Need to order some white silicon water tubing , I will run that under the sponson trays to the front for a clean look. The 3rd batt tray has room under it and bolts to the rails, it will hid my BEC and wires for a variety of things.image.jpg

I look forward to see what you come up with next. I have to say that a boat with some serious run time would be very nice to have. I'm putting back together a couple small boats I have just so I can stay at the lake longer, battery costs are the big stinger with these electrics.

A nice thing about more capacity is you can run batteries with a lower C rating. The 8000mah packs I run are only 30c so that's 240 amps. Not quite enough juice on 1p for this big motor . 2 or more in parallel is plenty for almost any sport application. They cost about $80 each. I get really nice runs out of my Titan29 with these packs with a CC1515 , 642x prop.

Tried to weigh the boat on my crappy scale. My best guesstimate fully ready to run with 16000mah is 16 lbs.

All wired up and tested the thermal switch. Everything is working good ! Time to button this end up !

Need to JB weld the switch directly to the copper compound that the esc is embalmed in and shore up the switching wires . I will post a pick of that too. On to find a spot for the receiver and when my black water line gets in finish that up.

ESC switch is curing. It's a really thin layer of JB between the switch and copper compound so heat transfer should be pretty good.
