More sanding and shaping on the Hatch

OK Guys here are 4 pictures of my roughed out hatch, Now it may still be a little large but this is a mini with very little room for stuff so this is how it is going to stay and paint will make it all come together,(when I get that far)

That motor looks a little bit familiar (for my hydromite). Hatch looks much better now, though I think making the front part of the hatch sit flush with the hull would have a better transition. Are you going to cover the rear part on top?

So you like my free stand, the next time you buy a cd/dvd drive for your computer you just may get two of them!! that is what I am using, My work bought me a new dvd drive and these were the packing material, I took one look at them and said self these will work great for the Mini cats we are building.

Asa's Birthday Present

Well I am at it again, Making a Rudder assy, It is sort of relaxing here are some pictures, The parts are roughed out and placed together but it is starting to take shape!

what dimensions are you using on the rudder?

2" blade x 5/8" wide ,1 1/8" stand off bar set in 1/4' block made to match the transom on Ace's boat.

Oh yea the blade is 1/8" thick and is made to be a mini wedge

you have been away for a while!! I just got the motor in the mail yesterday along with a speed control so I will be doing the mock up soon.
I was thinking of keeping the motor as far back as possible so I could have more space for the battery forward but I really need the battery before I set anything in stone. I have been shopping around for one but some of these batteries are like gold (or so the mfg r's would like us to think) and like always you are welcome for the information.

well I made a new stand off base plate for my new rudder, ( it might just wind up on my mono with a lengthened stand off arm then I will put a bigger prop on it
