Oh yes I forgot I made the rudder out of a piece of aluminum I just had lying around keeping with my theme of saving those scraps, I did however have to buy the plywood for the stringers and one piece of 1/16" balsa and though I hate to admit it 1 sheet of 1/64 ply, for the sponson tops and I have a bunch of that left over!
BobKat; save those scraps!!

Looks nice, I thouht you were making it with a water pick up ? I think a pickup on the bottom of the boat will work fine. What are you going to use for a rudder bracket? I wonder if you can use a brass tube for pivot point for your screw, then solder the tube to a peice of angle or something that can be mounted to the boat. I have some CF if you want to use it to make a rudder linkage for the rudder.Twin power =Comment

Well here is the rudder next to a concept drawing and the layout for the skins I am working on this morning.
Ace the rudder was too thin to put a pick up in I barely got the pin in it.Attached FilesPeter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

Well it looks like I have solved the rudder bracket problem but the where to mount??? is an entirely different issue I may have to run the tub all the way out and loose the cool shelf thingy, or I may have to make the back skinny little shelf holder a little wider to hold the rudder bracket any how it will look killer no mater what I do because I will not settle for any less!! Oh yea the parts are highly polished but with the resolution jacked up to 3.1 and the flash on and it being night every irregularity reflects and makes the rudder and bracket not appear as shiny as they really are. any how enjoy.Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

I will be needing a piece of 1/4" aluminum then I am going to split it and slide it on to my bracket but how I get the rudder into it is a secret (because I have to see if what I am thinking about is available so If I open my mouth too soon "gulp" shoe leather.)Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

I wouldn't want you guys to think that my hatch is going to finish like it is because it is not, I have been looking for a piece of Styrofoam block th hack up (very light weight) and glue to the top of the hatch, but first I am going to hack it wide open so I can create a hollow place for a little more air flow and more room. thats all for today, and John I am expecting to see some saw dust from your side of the world!!!Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!
