fantasm is an ok built hull.it has a layer of carbon/kevlar from the factory in it but i will be adding reinforcement to the hull along with carbonfiber plates on the transom and area where the stingers mount threw the hull. they are hard to find but im sure if you keep your eyes open you should be able to find one. this one took me about 3 months to find. paint should be cured by friday and i will have this thing together and running in no time ,hopefully this weekend.

i could but dont know if i will have it done by then . got the stuffing tubes done and reinforced the transom and area where stingers come threw hull with carbon fiber plates today. if everything is dry tomorrow morning ill be mounting stingers and scale rudder , motors and esc's , running some cooling lines. then pow almost done. doin my best to get her done. only have 4 cells atm to run it on so full potential wont happen for a few. im looking for some 5 cells that dont cost my left arm atm, i found something i been looking for for about 6 months last week and had to get it :) so there went my funds for batteries and props i had saved up lol.IMG_0852.jpg

what are those two hulls? shockers?
I thought you were closer than that, no need to rush take your time and do it right.Comment

yes kfx they are shockers.
this boat was built when i purchased it from don ferrette and i think it was built when he got it. i just cut out all the wood and upgraded the hardware from 4mm to 3/16. then put carbon fiber where the wood was.really not much more to do just drying time. all the holes were already there. only hoping to do 65-70 with this boat. i might just bring it out to show you guys the paint job .these pictures do it no justice. my geico is always ready to run and so is my saga . ill have them.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

IMAG0851.jpgIMAG0855.jpgIMAG0854.jpg .
i must be the slowest person in the world when it comes to mounting hardware and electronics lol. only took me 10 hours today to mount hardware, install and check electronics, cut down my flex shafts, run cooling lines and build the detachable c/f bracket that holds the steering cables . now all that is left is to dial in my stingers before my first test run tomorrow.Comment

thanks joel ill do that. cant wait to see her go :) . i noticed that the last sponson has a slight curve to it .do i zero the stingers off of the edge closest to nose of the boat or the edge closest to the transom or some where in between? mounting those scale rudders is no joke.i am use to drilling 1 hole for a rod , putting a boot in it and done lol.Comment

20140823_143129.jpgimagejpeg_0_8.jpgimagejpeg_1_8.jpgfirst cruise today went good .ran it at 60-65% throttle to on 4 cell to give everything a chance to break in and did about 45mph. temps were 110 on esc's , 95 on motors, and 95 on batteries. i had alot of water though. i know some came in where the rudder cables come threw the hull and most came from in between the stuffing tube and liner. should i grease in between the stuffing tube and liner? and i siliconed the holes in between the rudder wire mount and hull and all the bolts that go through the hull. what else can i do ? any suggestions would be appreciated. about to epoxy that *!***!***!***!** in lol j/k.Last edited by Vin-m; 08-23-2014, 04:47 PM.Comment

Make sure on your drives that nothing will catch the water once the boat is up to speed. Just a little edge in your drive system is enough to catch water and pressure it up your stuffing tube. Use plenty of grease but not necessary between your liner and brass although it will get there eventually at the strut side. The way your wraps are on the flex it wants to push the grease out naturally which is a good thing for your bushings so use plenty of water proff grease ! I use maxima grease that you can only get at a motorcycle shop. I try to stuff as much grease as possible in my cable ant strut bushing because after a 4minute + runs at full throttle mostly it's all gone, but everything is new looking. Just make sure there it nothing catching / dragging water somewhere on your drive system because that will act like a water pic up. for 2nd run i put some cooling hose over the stuffing tube and the liner on the motor end and hoped that it would fix water problem.still got a lot of water in. not as much but still way more then i would like. i also thought i was gonna give it a go at a fast pass but when i went to gun it the boat took off quick then quickly cut back to like 50% throttle or something and stayed there . ithink i did 36 mph. when i checked temps nothing was even remotely hot but the capacitors on the esc's. motor was 92, esc's were 105 themselves but capacitors were 150 , bateries were 90. dont know if there is a thermal shut down on t180s or what. but not really sure why it is cutting back on throttle? any thoughts?Comment
