I agree it does look quite a bit slower than it should be running.

Sorry guys let me clear up some of your confusion, sorry .

        It is a 2350kv / m445 prop on 2 thunder power 3850mah 30/60c 4s1p cells in parallel, s OK its basically 7700mah 4s2p. The rudder is a 4 1/2" swing away, that hangs 2 1/2" below the ride pads.

CharacteristIcs of a stepped hull is that it snaps turns at speed like it's on rails, whi c h it does at lower power/ kV like the 2s x 2 4s series and 2030kv that was in it.

Its a lot faster than it was before, way faster than the 35mph traffic In the street. I do realize I need a deeper rudder with the higher power setup. I was testing my turn radius when the power alarm on my r radio started beeping.

I do need a better camera angle, like a side view that shows a full speed pass, rather than a front diagonal. I was filming off a tripod, so I couldn't track with the boat. I also need to film at a larger pond, this is just the pond I use for shakedown test runs.

As soon as I get my new 200A ESC I ordered, I'll shoot some vids at Julius kleiner park, and I may give my venom 5000mah 25c 5s1p packs a try in parallel.

I almost forgot . The hull is 29" long, and the balance point I s set a th 30%, which I s 9 1/4" from the rear, or 19 3/4" from sponson tip. After notching the slot in the strut the prop is 3/16" above t he ride pads.

"... I do realize I need a deeper rudder with the higher power setup. I was testing my turn radius when the power alarm on my r radio started beeping. "

In my opinion you won't realize the full potential of this hull's turning ability until you install a longer rudder, you will be amazed at the difference it makes , also the threshold between spinout and no spin out is surprisingly narrow.
A 5" rudder may do the trick, I had the Speed Master http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ros-spdr-001 and no more spin out.

BTW, vid. is nice, like your location

working over my mean machine ....

Yeah maybe it's the angle of the camera playing tricks. Your strut height sounds right, good prop choice... Etc

The rpm still sound a bit low to me but if you can get a different vantage point Thad be great.
Most of us in here have/had mean machines including myself, so we know what it should look like at full throttle

It's a good ol' m445 w/ a 1\16" back cut, to cut down on the low speed amp draw & gives it a Lil' more rpm

                  1.4 x 1.77" = 2.478"

I also like the Octura 440/3 blade on this setup, with 4s & 5s. A 1.6 pitch x645 on 5s is smokin' fast with this hull, or the sprint cat, but squirrley and hard to handle

                          Here is Jorn's 29" sprint cat. He's running a 4040 1800kv on 6s, pulling a 440/3 prop.
After this he swapped in a 4074 2000kv mill, and a x645 prop & broke 75 mph . Jorn races FE across the pond. I follow his vids :-) .
