HaHaHa, you have the addiction bad brother, welcome to the club!...good idea on going with offset rudder, even with your milling your thrust cone like Slohd pointed out is going to get disturbed, significantly affecting your speed.....DJ

My first couple of tests in seeing if the hatch was water tight didnt fare well. After trying a few things to help the hstch seal better, I finally figured out it was just too flexible even with an added layer of carbon and epoxy. I ended up adding a strip of cf plate about .060 thick on each side. Its super stiff now.the best part? I completely submerged it in the bathtub (lmao) for over 30 seconds and not a drop got in. Im happy with that.

              heres the hatch after stiffening

Boat turned out great, saw the maiden and you must be happy. Just an observation but how the heck do those massive rudder standoffs survive any period of time? I picture them doing all kinds of crazy thing at speeds. It's quite the lever! I see it all the time so they must be Ok. Seeing them on the smaller boats exaggerates the look I guess. At 70 mph though...

It runs nicely. Had some receiver issues but other than that it was great. Suprisingly nothing got hot with a 2650kv on 4s. Those standoffs are stiff. Very stiff. I tried bending them on the bracket and they don't even flex.

You must have misread my post. I stated Suprisingly "noting" got hot which I left out a letter to say nothing got hot. Motor or esc didn't get warm. 40k rpm is not alot. I run 40k rpm all the time :)
