I'm tempted to try the same setup in this boat with a boat esc with about a 220a rating and a smaller prop under 40mm. Ideas? Suggestions?
I have one of those here for a boat, was thinking the 'rigger'. I do run one in my Slash on 4s. Crazy... They pretty much have the power of a 1515 in the smaller package. That should kill in there

ESC... how about an ETTI 150? I think they are compact. What size batteries are you thinking in this?

Something like 2400kv or more on 3s, then 4s. 2200kv on 4s is what I thought was a sport boat setup. I think your sport boat setup days are over!
Well I've been going back and forth all day. 2200kv or 2650kv..... Well I took the 2200kv motor out of my rivercat tonight and its gonna take some work to fit it. The 2650kv will be much easier. I'm not so sure the 2650kv motir will take 4s like I'd want to do. I did survive in my 26" shockwave mono on 4s with a mm2 esc. It was so fast it woukdnt stay on the water. That actually cause the death of that boat. I was going very fast with it and it came out the water and hit back down hard. Anyway it was prolly well over 50mph if I coukd have kept it in the water. I'm just a little nervous doing this now (didn't know better then!) knowing what I know. I hate to set this boat up around the 2650kv motir and not be able to use it.

I found out this hull has close to 70mph capability...... Well I'm going to...... Ummm Yea you get the picture. Guess this isn't going to be a sport boat like I had planned hahaha

I see where rcboatbitz.au in Australia has the same hull. The call it the Genesis '680' mini, but it's the same thing as a FC Lynx. Sweet lol boat. I have the fiberglass version with a Neu 1515 4100kv motor and a swordfish 200a. Overkill I know but it's a blast to run

Here is a link to a short video of mine.

Nice.... That thing is moving pretty good. Is that a 26" version? And your using a 4100kv version? How may cells are you running?

On a side note, I know some of you guys are gonna think I'm crazy but I've decided to run the 2650kv 1512 motor in this thing on 4s. I know it's alot of rpm but....

              1) I know the motor can handle it
              2) I'm not the average tinkerer (lol) and ill go through great pains to make it work reliably. For 1 I'll do what I can to reduce vibration and drag
              3) this little motor is a man of a motor for its size....It shoukd push this hull and not break a sweat
              4) I'd rather run a smaller prop.... Higher rpm and that equal less prop walk and probably less strain on the motor/esc
              5) I like to be different
              6) I like the scream of 40k rpm better than 30k rpm lol

If something happens to it, O well.... Ill build another one and learn from this one..... So stay tuned.... I'm getting ready to get started building this little screamer!

I dunno... I'm pecking away at them during the week. I'm unsure on my motor mount situation so I was mocking things up last night. I had planned on starting on it last night but I had to get my rivercat ready for this weekend. I'm going out to a huge Lake and have some fun with it and the cheetah. I do have alot of other projects going on at the moment so this build may go slower...... You believe me don't you? Lol

Yes that is the 26/27" version. Mine is fiberglass with a CF inlay. Sorry the motor is a Neu 1515 .5Y 4400kv. I'm running it on 3s 2200mah 25c Hyperion Lipos.

I like the hull as i see it on the pictures!
Have you decide what esc to run?

                    A T180/seaking 180A maybe...

That's undecided. For now I'm going to run a mamba monster 2 that I converted to water cooling. I'm considering one of those esc's. I just posted a wanted ad for some items and that was one of them. If I smoke the mm2 in the mean time I'll just buy another.

                        Better wait for a T180.
Only make it waterproof and you will never need to change it.
I also have some crazy suggestions for a setup.....

Sounds to me like a good choice. All the components are getting better every year. 40000 or so unloaded rpm and a motor with good bearings and a shaft running on lead teflon bushings and your good to go. Running at 80% throttle keeps you well in the safe zone and you can hammer it for some nice speed runs. I like your plan. I can't wait to build a hot setup boat like this once I am done messing around on the build I am doing. I think your going to do well, let it rip!

If you go with the 1512 I don't think you will have enough room for the seaking 180 due to its height, it won't fit I front if the motor. That's why I used a swordfish 200a since it has a lower profile. My cousin has the 32" rivercat/aparation and he had to cut his cowl to fit the seaking 180 in front of the Sirus 1515 he has in it and that's a bigger hull. Then again he used the stock motor mount and didn't shift nothing around. Maybe if you put the motor further back it will fit.

I mocked it up tonight. No go with the motor mounts I have. So I made my own. The mm2 esc will fit if I make my cooling block thinner by a tad. Wont be a plate made to hold the esc in this build because of its size. I may use something else, I'm not sure yet. I'm just trying to shoehorn this big ole motor in it. Right now I'm fitting the 1512 motor but ill have room with the 1515 because of the mount I made. The CF I used wasn't quite perfect so I had to block sand it a little and put a nice finish coat of resin on it. Pics
