Great build. Is this the hull currently selling out of china on eBay.com? If so were you happy with the quality although cheap?

Hi Shane. This is the one from E Bay. I am verry happy with the quality for the price I paid. You will, however, have to re-inforce it as the fibre glass is thin. It doesn´t come with any form of gel coat or paint. My boat is exactly the same as Fellas but he is having a single motor set up and I have gone for two motors. I have attached some pictures which might be of interest to you.2014-12-02 16.46.16.jpg2014-12-02 16.46.27.jpg2014-12-02 16.50.43.jpg2014-12-02 16.50.53.jpg2014-12-03 16.42.19.jpg

I have only sailed it once and it needs a bit of configuring yet as it kept spinning out for no apparent reason or none I could see. Hope to be back up at the lake in a fortnight or so.

if you are looking specifically for a mono then you might like to Google Waverider mouldings. I understand this is a quality product t a sensible price.

      Good Luck.

Hi Andrew can you tell a bit of your Setup please and how you reinforced it as it is not polyester nor epoxy ?

Hi Shane, it is the hull available on eBay. Very nice quality though very thin sides and deck. The whole boat needs reinforcement from bow to stern, top to bottom. There's lots of room to work on it, for the top deck I hung it from the ceiling and had room to stick my head in there to see what my arms were doing. I used a 10k harness weave carbon fibre cloth to the hull inlay. It's quite thick but worked very well this being a mono hull. Not something I would use on a cat where your dealing with 90 degree angles and sponson steps. To much chance for air bubbles under the cloth that might go unnoticed.
The hull is still incomplete, waiting for my health to improve so I can get back on it! I just received my MBP lipo sled battery trays that my friend Andrew helped me procure. There going to work great.
Axel, Andrew used Cf fabric with epoxy for the main hull inlay. The motors and escs were built into an aluminum frame work. He finished things with a piece of carbon fibre plate over the framwork. I believe the motors are 5692, 1100kv running 8s a side. It's just recently hit the water and is looking good, just needs some tuning. I think the escs are sf 240's. I'm sure he'll fill us in. The short video I saw of it looked great, a relief for me to as it rides nice on the water!

Hi Axel. I need to put the video on You Tube first which I will do over the weekend. The st up is 2 x Leopard 5692 1090Kv motors each one running on 9 cell which is their limit. I have 2 x Hifei Swordfish Pro+ 200 amp Escs.

The motors were are mounted using two 56 series motor mounts which were slightly modified. I discarded one side from each mount and used threaded rod to join the two together through the existing holes which would have been used to attach the cf sides to the mount. I also reduced the width of the mounts by getting alocal engineering shop to cut down the motor supports so the drive lines could be closer together rather than putting two bends in the brass tube.

I had built an aluminum cradle to hide all the wiring but discarded this as it was too tight in the hull and would have made maintenance difficult. Picture attached. This was scrapped and now a single sheet of cf is screwed down onto the motor mounts with the Esc also attached underneath either side of the motors. I can unbolt this one piece of cf and gain access to the motors and Escs. Worked out quite nicely and also hides a lot of the wiring.

I reinforced the hull throughout with cf and the canopy in Kevlar so the Gps signal can be received. The boat got up to 53 kph and I had hardly touched the throttle before it spun out. The props are Octura X457 inward rotating (I am told it makes a difference!). The stingers are 1/4 inch from Hor racing I thinkDSC03914.JPGb1.jpgDSC03909.JPGDSC03913.JPG

These pictures show the first configuration but all the aluminium you see was stripped out and replaced with the one sheet of Cf2014-12-02 16.45.09.jpg

This is how the inside of the hull looks now.2014-12-02 16.46.16.jpg2014-12-02 16.46.27.jpg

The motors are cooled from the rudder as it is a duel water pick up type but the Esc have two lots of water cooling each as I used two x duel water pick ups mounted on the base of the hull.

                Hope this helps.

Andrew try the props outward rotating and go down to 8s

Hi Axel managed to publish the video. http://youtu.be/41OyTU36g2E[/VIDEO] Not the best video on earth but it shows it spinning out. It did this at low speed when making a wide turn. Never flipped over though, which was good.

I have a big mono like this and it was doing the same thing, I found that the hull had a hook on each side of the keel right at the transom. I'm in the process of fixing it now, I'm pretty sure this is the problem. I'll let you know how it goes...

Hi Axel the cog is approximately at 30% from the back of the boat. The stingers were set almost flush with the hull. I wonder if the turn fins are set too deep? The trim tabs are also pretty flush with the hull.

Andrew try to run without the turnfins and the tabs have to be 2mm above the bottom of the hull.
Check what flaptor said i think he has the right idea - i had that on the boat in my Avatar also

Hi Axel the trim tabs are 2mm above the bottom the hull. I shall have a look at the keel this evening. Not sure what is meant by "a hook" but will see if something looks out of place. Thanks for everyones help/advice
