I reread the last posts I make and have to laugh at myself. I get a little on the over excited side when working on my boat! I made some progress today. Started figuring out how the esc was going to mount. I made everything big so I could adjust the sizes as I went as I couldn't make my mind up.
The esc will be mounted closer to the front of the motor and the back of the plate will be shortened quite a bit. I haven't shown the top view, the motor/ side rails will be spaced out to five inches. I put the new style tp5660 in place and it sure looks small. Going to leave myself room to go to a Tp5850 or a castle 2028. The other photo is the rx with the power regulator and a cap bank (not really needed). The gps will mount somewhere with it. The whole thing is still in mock up stage at this point. Just making sure everything will fit and work properly once finished.

I have made a little more progress. I have machined up the brackets that will hold the shaft that actuates the stinger adjustment. The brackets are mounted off the rudder bolts and the shaft is high in the transom to allow for steering servo. The stinger servo will be mounted on the port side. It's a 5th scale hv savox servo with 40kg of torque, hopefully it will be enough. The servo for trim tab adjustment will be on the starboard side. Steering servo in the middle. It will be crowded once everything is in there. Hopefully you can get a sense of how things work from the photos. Everything is being put together temporarily until everything is sorted out. The small servo and mount is for trim tab adjustment and will also be a hv savox servo once installed. Trying to decide what I like. The large servo mount should look very clean once epoxied in.

The esc mounted over is in the process of being changed. Motor angle has been increased for better stuffing tube alignment. The esc will be mounted just behind the motor but high off the floor so the batteries can tuck up to the motor. The motor mount will also be spaced out from 4" to 5" to accommodate this. The hull is very front heavy, it's tall and deep up front and tapers to a smaller v and short transom. COG was a little tricky to get right. I had to sacrifice on what would have looked best for the esc mount to achieve this.

Here's are a set of turn fins for a member on here that has the same boat. The idea was to make a set each but I didn't have enough stainless steel plate when the time came to make them. Andrewc is much further along on his build so I needed to get them done. Not looking forward to doing this all over again! Just have to finish polishing them up and then they are off to Spain! They are almost 3" tall, quite large. He also wanted a spacer block for his rudder standoff so I machined that up as well.

Thanks for kind words, I really appreciate them. The servo horn isn't custom, it was a giant two sided one that has been chopped down to size. I spent way to much time reinforcing every square inch of the hull so I could abuse it! The weight may get me when it comes to all out performance but the power trim and tilt should keep me interested, it will be run on big water a lot. See if either one is useful enough to be used in other builds. It's a slow process as I am still very limited in what I can do.

Fella if you're looking for some nice servos, I just started using these KST servos and so far they've been awsome they have a waterproof servo that is 319oz. Before this I used Savox in everything I've ever built and IMO these may be a better servo and they are cheaper by quite a bit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KST-BLS259-S...item43c76d8ed5

Thanks Scott, it should be different when done anyways. It's the first thing I have ever built where I have added so many things to a project that can go wrong. The kiss principle is out the door on this one.
Flr, I am committed to savox on this build as I have already bought 2 of the required four it will be running, all on 2s! I will check out the KST servos and possibly try them out on the next build.

Hey Shawn, my interest is back full force. I'm just waiting for my body to catch up! Progress is being made but it's not worthy of a post yet. If I have to finish it in 15 minute a day intervals so be it. It will be done! I was having a laugh the other day thinking about how much kfxguy has accomplished in such a short time,we started with toy boats about the same time:-)) Scaling this boat build back and simplifying things was the first smart thing I've done on this build. Keeping the power trim and tilt though:-) Being able to do even just a little is making my spirits raise greatly. I keep checking my inbox for pictures...
