just one question...position of your water pickup...I think it would not be of any difference if water pickup would be positioned more laterally...on the other side of stuffing tube...would be?

that area, laterally of stuffing tube is also all the time in water...no matter what speed...if not, the boat is probably in the air and flying :)

I'm just thinking, you can avoid such tight positioning...what do you say?
    thnx
I consider you very grown up based on the toys you are playing with LOL, but thank you for the kind words. Your boat looks amazing also. With the water pickups, when you gain speed and the hull is riding right, it will run on the last inches of the ride pad, I have seen the boat on a clear calm day where it was riding to a point where I could see under the hull all the way through but only the last maybe 2-3 inches was in the water, mainly the sharpest points of the ride pad. So I believe the closest you can get to where the drives exit, and the closer you can get to the tunnel, the more likely you will pick up water.

      Hi All,
Slowly getting closer but pulling my hair out at the same time. I slightly had to change the layout as I wasn't happy with the placement of components, and I didn't want to get into extending leads. I still want to keep them as short as possible. I did how ever get the bottom plate cut out and "roughly" fitted some components. It looks like it will work nicely, but still some small issues I want to sort out before I cut more carbon. At least the hole pattern is in place.

I also like carbon face of the escs better than the other side ...but, on non carbon side there are some leds that should indicate specifical situations ...that's why I originally wanted to fix them "non carbon side up"...
What do you think...could that be a problem?
Now, when I saw your carbonfaceup position...I am tempted to fix my controllers the same way...
Also, one more defference between your and mine plan is that...in my case...everything in fixed on carbon motherboard...and then the board is fixed in the boat...I believe that you are fixing escs to the hull..than covering everything with the board...if I can see good enough from the photos..I just thought that it will be the easiest way to service or remove all electronics from the boat in one move...
I would just like to discuss a bit about these issues...
What do you think?...and thanks :)

Hi Yamadori, Those are some good points!! As for the esc's to be quite honest it was a random placement LOL they will be covered so in this case I guess it doesn't mean much which way. although, if I flip them I can go with a shorter stand off on top of the lock nut. Yes there are a series of lights that indicate a few things and could at times be nice to have them, but mostly you attach the packs, wait for the "beeps" and you're good to go. I did mount the ESC's to the bottom plate for a few good reasons, one main reason was that when I use to mount everything to the top plate I would have no control over wires, specially when I pulled the plate off. This way I can route the wires the way I want and nothing will come loose when I take the plates off. I can even run the boat with the plates off and save 323grams of carbon. the service is also very cool this way as I can unscrew the servo, and then one esc at the time if I wish. So the idea is, hopefully looking good, but also practical. and of cause can make different variations and upgrades to the top plate with out effecting the rest of the components.

Not much to showcase but it's getting a little better every day. Got some more parts done today and nearly there. Still plenty of work on this one.

                          umm yes LOL
getting covered soon as I get them cut, motors are running in wye, so I will have two cables into one connector then I'll cover them both so it will look like 3 wires in total rather than 6. I ask my self, what was Martin thinking!! bloody yellow!!

Got a few more things done, such as servo mount, servo arm and also some inlay. She is coming together slowly.

Boat looks incredible! Just had thought about the bolts in
Gears and bar that simulate the watch workings. If you used purple anodizes bolts in these places it would give the effect of running on saphire bearings. In your earliear pictures it looked like you were doing that but you now have ss bolts there. I am real watch guy from old to new and having the purple at the pivot points would be a nice detail. You may already plan on doing this but wanted to bring it up. This is my favorite boat to date period.
