Oh and @ kent, at no more than 70 I don't think I need to worry about an extra layer.... realistically after running redemption on 8S Sunday, at about 60, It would have likely never seen more than that.
We put so much of our heart and soul into these projects. I've been in a few situations that are similar and probably made it worse by reacting too quickly. My only advise I can give is to don't do anything to the boat for a week or two. Take the time to evaluate your options.

Good Luck.
Well said my friend. Exactly what Im doing. I don't wanna jump the gun on anything at all. Ive waited this long just to get it back, whats another week or two.
. If the boat is a big investment and the perceived cleanliness of the build is gone you'll never like looking at it.
Could always do the inlay even if its no longer your boat to build and sell it. I have a hard time believing you'll just set it down next to a few blown out old hulls.
you have a lot of options at the end of the day your time will take the biggest hit and thats worse than the wallet sometimes
I over estimated time on a few jobs today so keep running n and out of the house. I got the window painted this am and about have it installed in the frame.... just tryin to make myself feel good about it again. Ill finish it up later n post a pic.... sigh....
Had a new guy from the club FL...07 contact me that I didn't even think to contact. He runs a custom shop and mentioned in an email that they have used aircraft stripper and not damaged fiberglass. Ill get more info asap from him. he just said it leaves it dull. I can fix dull pretty easily if it will work.
As mentioned in my last post, I did the window just for something to do to make me smile about it again. Im ordering black stainless screws instead of the stainless that I installed. I thought I already got them but guess not. Heres a couple pics. the scoop is just sitting on top for now.
Oh and forgot to mention. I ended up with another hatch that is amazingly sturdy and built like a tank, yet weighs nothing. the recess for the intake scoop had been smoothed and the plan was that hatch would be painted to match the boat and used for my running hatch... plus theres a couple things I wanna tweak on it a bit. Unfortunately I did not notice but the pics I sent the painter of one of the HPR boats, there was a green line between the frame and the checkered flag. Its not supposed to be there. Im wondering if whoever painted that hull (115 06) never put the frame on so there was a small line. The painter copied that.. Minor details, but its stuff that isn't right in my head... Yes Im anal when it comes to my HPRs. Just incase you hadn't figured that out yet.
I just talked to chris. Sounds like aircraft stripper might be the answer. I'm going to try n hit the paint shop in town tomorrow and pick up a qt and do a little test spot.
Unfortunatelt I don't have a blown out epoxy hull.. or any for that matter. Just gotta grabem tight n hope for the best I guess. At this point... what's the worst that can happen? I fix eaten epoxy and carbon inlay.
Scott, I thought of something else after we talked today, if CF will hold up to Nitro methane on a Top Fuel intake and blower hat I don't think a little Aircraft stripper for fiberglass is gonna hurt it. Just don't leave it on a long time.
