Like yourself, I couldn't find an F1 design locally made.
      Price was excellent.
I'm running a 6S setup - Swordfish 300 Pro Plus ESC with data logging.
Launched it last Sunday @ my local lake and easily hit 70km/h at only 70% throttle with
      an X438 prop.
Motor is a Thunder Power 4060 1800 Kv smooth can to begin with.
It porpoised like crazy until I hit the throttle then sat perfectly and cornered on rails.
RC Boat Bitz in SA have also been very helpful with hardware & running gear.
      Next stop is some decent LiPos since my last one kind of exploded.;
There's a fine line between floating and flying.
Cheers and good luck - these F1 thingummies are cutting edge.
Where did yoy buy the Thunder Power 4060 1800 Kv motor?

RC Boat Bitz in S.A. is my motor supplier.
Joe delivered exactly what I'd ordered the next day Express Post.
NOTE: I'm not affiliated in any way but I appreciate good service - no matter who it is.
His decals adorn by boat as a result.
Could have gone CC (as I did in the past but it blew up due to catastrophic upper bearing failure) with another 1518 1Y.
Plus a shelf full of deceased CC ESCs turned me elsewhere.

@ DrWayne: Mate, thanks for the links - hope there are a few interested south of the QLD/NSW/VIC borders too.
However the GC Model Boat club apparently had their last race day in 2006 according their website... !
Also noted there isn't a single FE boat mentioned - in any class.

In the end, these boats kick butt, but are an acquired passion and require specialised setup knowledge.
Hard enough making them run electric as well against the "old school" nitro crowd.
Let's not get into a "FNQ vs Mexican" argument which doesn't do the class anything good at all.
That would be "racist" - which is all good when "racing".

Last time I checked we're both paying taxes to the same Federal Gumbymint for reasons unknown.
        Borders are "borderline" at best.

It's all about being fast and controllable - not unlike women.

How to make a small fortune.... Start with a large one and get into FE boats!

So I got a hull it's a k&m 36" tunnel second hand set up as inboard. The plan is SF 200 or 220 and 4082 1600 on 5s already have 4 5s batts. Not lookin to run it as race spec (once I have some experience I would like to race it and change to OB), haven't decided props yet and unsure weather I should go up to 4092 or 6s not sure if I need to with only a 36" hull. Would love neu motor what size could I run in this boat?

Thanks I could never find a link for tp power, just confusing because some people say TP and mean TP Power not Thunder Power motors. My post was only because accessable said he got TP from that SA shop but they do TP Power if I making any sense :S

What kind of amps were you pulling with your current set up and what watts is your motor rated for? Trying to get some info on what other are running for my own build

Got my first tunnel a few months ago from ebay its a hornet goes fast enough for me bit rough around the edges like Frankenstein lol.

But i love it kinda not that reliable haha needs a good motor coupler.

Running a 2750 kv motor on 3s and 120 amp esc and a metal prop not sure on that.

slowly but surely making it more reliable it hasnt had a full throttle run yet!!! no matter how i trim it it just spins out or coupler comes loose no matter how much loctite 'wont give up on it yet even though i have a gas boat in the works and a bit of financial difficulty but ill keep going.

and definitely get a stainless outboard etc one day lol

All the best guys we got some awesome tunnels here down under
