When you put in your carbon mats do you use CA or Epoxy?

Installing CF Mat Floor
Here's the way I have done it in the past and will do the next one: I "paint" the area where the mat will be applied with epoxy (remember I use thin 4:1 mix ratio stuff that takes 8 to 24 hours to "go off"). Then I wet-out the mat on a piece of butcher paper. A credit card is good to squeegie the epoxy into the cloth. Then I lay the cloth on the floor. I use a paper towel to "dab" the mat and absorb any excess epoxy. this also helps sticks the mat to the floor. Finally I'll add the plywood framework before the epoxy sets. Everything gets held in place with tape, weights, or a drop of CA glue where applicable.
I'll post a photo when I get to that point. I did something similar on a Graupner "Systems" cat. Here's a photo of that.Attached FilesA nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

Cost
I should add the cost figures. You can get Chinese servos for under $5 nowadays, although I used something I had on hand. The battery can be found for under $20 at UH. Just add your Rx. The cost for what you see is about $190.
A complete, RTR race boat with battery for under $200. Cheap!
I spent that much just for the batteries on my Campbell Hydro.
Now, all I need to confirm is Fast, and Out of Control. Should be easy.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

Hey Dr Jet,
Did you decide on your CAD drawings yet? Im looking to buy 2 Hydromite Kits from Lazer Works and if you have the CAD templates for the basic I wouldnt mind changing them up fro what I want to do and having them burned.
Of course if you like what I do you can have the CAD drawings of my mods also.
Im thinking of a semi flexible wire drive. Motor a bit further back and batts up front.
Im also trying to devise a "quick change" motor plate. Since Im not the richest boater I would like to quickly and easily take this motor/esc combo out and use it in two other models.42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)Comment

Yes, I think may make a "kit" available to the masses when I know it works. I may go so far as to include everything in the kit, including framework, motor/ESC, coupler, shaft, bearing, stuffing tube, servo mounting (3M Dual-Lock), and Solinger micro rudder. Maybe I can talk Joe into making a micro turn fin as well. I can order the parts in quantity and save some shipping costs.

At under $25 for the motor/ESC combo, almost anyone can afford a couple.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

so early we race the hydros and when the wind comes up it's FOOTY time
I have my hull {ebay probably would have been cheaper to get a new one.} I ended up removing his motor mount, rudder and drive line that was rather grungy. I did get a brushless motor with no name.
motor/esc/battery on the way
need strut/rudder/prop bby and MHZ USA are both out for a few days and Fuller does not have everything, may go with his anyway {he only is missing a prop}Comment

New linkage for the micro rudder
Here is a drawing of the new linkage design. Hopefully I can get some machined in the next day or two. I am getting ready for a race this week end and time is tight.
