Noticed your long antenna tube. What radio are you running? 2.4ghz?

Yes a spectrum marine, and I have the second antenna just poking out the hatch seam. I don't like the tubes and sometimes get ripped off in a crash but this has carbon everywhere so not much choice but the ugly antenna tube. And to keep the range as good as possible I have the actual working part of the antenna as high up as possible.

Yeah I've ripped one off before too. I've never had range issues (that I remember) with my cheap flysky radio and a really short antenna tube, but then I've never had a carbon hull. I've always wondered how useful antenna diversity is for boats. Seems to me the vertical antenna would be the only properly polarized one - assuming a vertical tx antenna.

Again the build looks great. Maiden this weekend?

Yes I'm hoping to maiden this weekend (if I get the camper set up tomorrow). The only thing I worry about with boats is the signal getting lost from a water roost. But I haven't had any issues with that. Have had signal cut out a few time from range issues, pretty far away.

Shouldn't be an issue. With current radio technology you should be more than ok. I run like a 1" antenna with my futaba 3pmx fasst radio thing is amazing btw. Anyway all should be fine and look forward to seeing this boat on the water.

Good luck with it these are great hulls. Ive been running mine for about a month now with twin 1518 sirius motors and having a ball. Have found cog needs to be forward further than usual to keep it nice and stable.

Hey guys I finally got her wet. No videos but I will try and get some for all to see. First run was 6s with Cnc 4814 props. Neutral stingers, level with hull. Cg was at 33%. Very stable, little wet, but that was to be expected as she is a heavy hull and 6s wasn't pushing her to designed speed. Estimate on speed? Hard to tell but set her with same setup on 8s and if I had to guess 60-70 range? First time this year guesstimating but the others said on the faster side. At the higher speed the bounce was less pronounced but before I got to mess with anything the starboard drive loosened up. Didn't lose anything but tightened up and it had spun just enough to damage drive needing replaced. And I even ran a short burst to break in cable and retighten. 6000wats per side = a lot of horseys on that coupler/cable. Definitely have to be a driver on this beast. In the 5min test session I got I ran over wake several times and was very stable and no hints of poi ting north. 39876rpm, spike of 181 amps settling to 100-110, 6178 watts, 33.6 volts, temps on speedos 100f, couldn't even feel motors, the shafts were warm. The spun driveline coupler was hot but that is now toast. Will be replacing with new as its compromised. Very happy with initial run and having guessing on running trimm I hit the first testing pretty well. The bounce will was nothing as it was just sport trim and will be tweaked later on hotter setups.

the mbp collets are awesome, chris has then and I'm pretty sure they've never loosened. Glad to hear it went well.

Good to hear the maiden went well. Looking forward to a video. I'm sure the bright yellow cat on the water looks great.

Looked at the MHz collets but didn't see the 8mm to 3/16. I forgot that I had purchased some couplers from Jeff wolt at www.rcraceboat.com . And a pic of the drive line that slipped along with the left side that was fine. I might run for a bit with the two piece drive as some insurance for not sharing with Davie jones.

For you guys that solder the coupler end of a flex shaft what exactly do you use? Solder, flux, please be specific as I have tried several with no results.
