Rescue boat build, springer pusher with underwater fpv and recovery

I'm just going to run a cheap chinese outrunner somewhere about 800kv, 4s lipo, not sure of the esc, probably a used proboat or aquacraft, maybe a chinese 60 amp.
All the scale props I've looked into seem to be limited to under 13000 rpm, for pulling power I've been told you want larger diameter, low pitch, lower rpm.
I have a couple 1500kv motors that I was thinking about using on 2s but decided to go with a lower kv and higher voltage to keep the amp draw down, especially if I run an outrunner without water cooling. Should run much cooler.
I'm not sure how well water cooling will work at slow speeds so I wanted to keep the power system as lightly loaded as possible, if things get too hot I have enough room to install a small pump.
Gotta get back on that build, got side tracked with a new Whiplash hydro kit, and have been working out the logic for an unusual for electric twin build. LOL and picking up another 29" mono project this weekend.
Long Canadian winters, gotta have lots of projects. Build all winter, run all summer. Getting less than 9 hours of daylight now. Plus I usually work nights in the winter, on call 24/7 from November to April 15.

Sanded most of the seams. I'm not much of an engineer but I need to make several wrong cuts in order to get the right angles for the wheelhouse. That was a pain in the a$$!!!!

Have most of the major building done now. Originally I was going to have windows and going to detail the interior, but I decided that I am going to first make a more useable version. Later in the winter when I get the itch again I am going to make another superstructure that will have an interior. As the superstructure is just going to be clamped onto the hull and I could easily switch between any.
Siberianhusky, I know what you mean, winter is long for me. But I'm alot farther south, pennsylvania, and I think the winter is long! I'm waiting till April, that's when we get access to the river lots again. But as long as the water isn't frozen over I have a fish pond in backyard to play in. :). -or the bath tub. Lol!,,

Decided to use the idea of a hollow rudder shaft as a way of forcing water from the kort into the cooling system. Thank you, this will work out better than I thought. I will have to shorten the shaft when I start to get everything in place.

Started with a 50 prop but had to trim it down to somewhere like 47 so I would have clearance inside the kort when it is turned.

Countersink the skeg screws in the keel. I put a wood primer and mildew/wet area sealant on the hull. There was a few "holes" that became more noticeable after paint so the brown is epoxy wood filler. Wow, had to open the garage door after mixing and smearing that stuff! Or could have popped in the VCR an old episode of ren and stimpy. :).

Going to mod the front of the motor and make a motor cooling mount. After listening and reading from others I'm going to first try a brushed setup. I'm going to use this motor on 12volts, it's out of the 18v dewalt. I have a novak brushless/brushed controller that I smoked a motor in a crawler, thought the speedo was bad too but is good so it's going to be doing the talking to this motor. With the kort, a +\- 47mm 4 blade prop, I am thinking it will have the speed and power for this boat. Have all winter to test as long as I can keep the fishpond from freezing over. :).

Got the motor mount done. Have to cut the driveshaft and stuffing tube down and then the driveline will be done. Still working on the rudder servo arm, want to make it two piece so it will be removable. Had to do something as yesterday I had to put the little doggie down. .

Thanks, he will be missed. And thank you for the complement on the springer. I just got the fantasim hull in the mail the other day so this build was / is to tide me over till I start that. Originally this wasn't going to be so detailed but having most of the winter for two builds I decided to spend a little more time and enjoyment in the build. I always like build threads that are well documented so in my opinion that's why I'm posting a lot of pics. Hope everyone enjoys it.

I got done with work early so I thought I could relax and work on this project as I am home alone for a few hours. No interruptions as the wife has the remaining dog with her at work and the in-laws will be here in a day. Gotta love the holidays. I'm like the people from three Christmases movie, love family and friends just not the hustle n bustle of holiday get togethers. Lol... But this cat is a pita pet! Her cat! Bites everything I'm working on and then has to knock all my small parts off the bench when I'm not looking then batts them under the car or into the floor drain! And a pic of him when he was being bat at our river lot!!!! Will get some more work done soon and post.
