Rescue boat build, springer pusher with underwater fpv and recovery

Coming along beautifully! This will be solid as a rock... it will survive the "Umi toss" (search on RCGroups in the springer thread for it).

We played with one of those in a pond and the image was superb.

No not going for the umi toss! Lol!!! Some interesting cameras there, thanks. Where We run is pretty shallow and usually pretty clear. It's a section of river ranging from a couple feet to about ten feet out in the channel on the other side of th river.

This is what I ended with for cooling. If you notice the rudder shaft I'm using that as a water pick up. There is a bit sticking out into the kort right behind the prop blades. When I tested this in the sink, it didn't push water but I was only able to just barely give any throttle as it was in the sink. The linkage im using is just a precaution if debris gets into the Becker rudder or kort. And the servo linkage to the shaft is a two piece so I will be able to remove the kort from below. I'm surprised how much clamping force it has, the rudder shaft will not slip.

This is the fpv camera mount. Again I have not cut the portal window for this to function. I am going to wait until I get,,, well waiting till last. The main superstructure has a tube going to the wheelhouse, a conduit for the camera wires. Inside the wheelhouse will be a separate battery just for the camera transmitter. The smokestack is removeable for access to the camera transmitter and battery. I'm not planning on using this all the time so running the wire and removing the camera when not needed will be quick and easy.

Hey Lenny, I'm watching my in-laws American Eskimo doggie. Koda. She is pretty cool, and get along with other dog but the cat doesn't like her yet. The cat walks up to her and hisses then batts! The cat is definitely the aggressor-angry cat! Hey I like that angry cat, I think that's what I'm going to name the fantasim I'm building! Cool , thanks Len !!

I did try to move, salvage the knees but I'm going for a solid look and smaller. I also have seen a simple cross bar fitted with pool noodle to help in recover pushing. So I'm keeping that in mind as I have never used a pusher tug or for that matter never used another boat to recover another (tried pushing a pursuit into shore with another pursuit just to run up on it and have two to recover!)

I settled on a smaller set of knees. These look more in scale with the rest of the boat. And the front below water line is just the ply. This will help when under way as it won't be pushing water (as much).

The mounting of the knees to the hull is an idea I had. This will allow me to change the knees to see fit when I use it for rescuing a disabled boat. I have never used this nor have I seen any in action. I have seen many different designs for recovery so if the simple knee pusher doesn't work well I will be able to change very easily. The mounting block will be epoxied and screwed to the hull. The knee will be secured with a couple small screws on the sides facing each other. So they will be mostly hidden.
