With the extened fuel tubing I can tighten the motor screws from outside the hull. Then I just use a standard 90 degree allen wrench to toque the screws down tight. If I can find some 3mmx10mm knurled cap screws that'd make it even easier

I've made some progress on this build. I have both motor mounts in place and both stingers with stuffing tubes installed. I wanted to be able to replace the stuffing tubes without removing the stingers so this is what I came up with...

                DSC03058.jpgDSC03059.jpgDSC03060.jpgDSC03061.jpgDSC03062.jpg

It may cause the stingers to wear faster although I can easily replace them once they wear out. The fuel tubing is for the oiler. The photos show, in order, how the unit is assembled. Then the entire unit slides into a larger brass tube glued into the carbon fiber stinger tube

Next step will be reinforcing the motor mounts. Here I've made paper templates for the reinforcing CF. The inside has been lightly sanded to help the reinforcing adhere. A final thinned coat of finishing resin will be applied once all components are installed.

I take it that tube coming out of the stuffing tube is where you are going to use an oiler?
                    24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?

Yes, here you can see the oiler hose running up to the oil filler on the deck. The two black dots on the deck are my oil fillers. They're fuel dots used for gas powered rc airplanes

I like that idea! I could even put a grease nipple and use a grease gun

grease wouldn't work as good as oil. the grease would just come out at the collet and never make it down to the strut bushing.

Nice, I really like the oiler idea. What kind of oil do you use instead of marine grease then ? DJ
