Ok so i noticed a couple things.. the stand is too long? Should i just trace the bottom and cut it off a bit or what? Hangs over the bottom of the transom about 1/4 an inch or more... How will i might the strut to the boat? To the wood stand or to the transom?

I'm going to have to say it goes horizontally and from wide at the base(transom) to narrow away from the transom. Then you can mount the strut to the small end. This is where you will have to measure.

So the stand is in a shape of a triangle almost. Which should face up? Then what should i do?

The front of the stand off is the small tapered side, this is where u will mount the strut bracket. You will have to cut it from the backside, the unprimed part for the proper clearance of the front of the strut. In the pic, u have it positioned wrong

So i put the bracket on where the tip of the triangle is. The small flat spot... Ok.. thats where i will mount. How tho? Then do i just cut to how far i need it off the boat?

IMG_1651.jpgSo I'm hoping this will help you to understand what your after for positioning. You want the nose of the fully assembled strut to clear the transom. You wondered what a wet well was, this is one,but you don't want to do one.Just a fixed hole out of the transom and the strut far enough back so you can adjust it some.

Ok let me do some measure ments... The strut sticks back 1 inch. So should i have the stand come back about 1 an 1/4 inch?

Does the strut have a nose cone on it?

I found the pic.So the mounting surface or the strut is 1" behind the nose?

I would think an extra 1/4 to 3/8 should do it as you can have the brass stuffing tube sticking out of the transom till it mates with the nose of the strut. If it is not fully locked into the strut you should have some adjusting room.Does this make sense to you? And how tight does the brass fit into the nose piece?
