i probably going to use u-pol or thought about the 2k 2part spraymax urethane aerosol clear coat, two part clear in one can. pretty cool has an inner cylinder that you puncture then mix and have like 24 hours to use it. in a rattle can and about $15.

Yup, I thought about that and will be running without the two front and back for sport, when running for speed they are all going in. The bolts are loose and the holes are like 1/8" or so they will be very easy to tape over. And that was the main reason I like to see inside, smoke/water. Hopefully that will never happen! Lol... I just didn't like the two pins in the front and the big hatch locks ( the ones with the springs.. And not much room for tapeing around them) in the back. So that was the thought into that one. I'm working on a fool-proof magnetic locking hatch system, where you use a magnet for a key to release locking pins, super smooth clean look! But that's another build when I get it figured out.

or maybe actually having a key that would release locking cellinoids...hmmm 2 car door locks would run 4 hatch bolts, and they run on 12v or maybe even 7.4v

That would be pretty funny, have your car keys out and hit the button for the rc boat hatch to open, would have to get it to chirp twice also !!!!! Lol!!

With that lip around the edge of your hatch, you may want to use a slightly thicker variety, or shave the lip,(I did). That way your kopious, konspicuous, knarly, knurled knobs will give you a kewl seal.
Oh, and thanks to your inspiration I've spent the last couple of days turning flat sheets of acrylic into various pieces of, umm, art?

This stuff is real soft and available at Home Depot.I've had great success with it on my Shocker. And pretty good on the Miss Geico.

                        Oh,and available in different shapes.

i found this craft foam, 1/8" to 1/4" thick and adhesive backed too. they have larger sheets, big enough to make one piece for the hatch lip. so no seams. i sanded down the hatch edges so it is basically blue-printed to the hull, so the foam seal should work pretty good. and that was also the reason why so many hatch bolts. im hope i can run without tape, will have to test it out in the tub..

my cheap radio shack 40 watt sodering iron was no match for those 8mm bullets with silver soder....

yea right. lol... it didnt even get the soder hot enough... so had to use the torch, well it worked out better than the soder iron ever

i also cut the wires shorter. and yes the bullets are not pluged in the whole way.. damm those things are hard to get apart,, please tell me they will losen up with use,??? i know they are for the motor/esc connectors but i thought about using for batteries. if thats how hard they are to get apart then no way. im not a pansey, i litterly needed to use plyers to pull them apart when they were unused just bare bullets.
