my cheap radio shack 40 watt sodering iron was no match for those 8mm bullets with silver soder....
yea right. lol... it didnt even get the soder hot enough... so had to use the torch, well it worked out better than the soder iron ever

i also cut the wires shorter. and yes the bullets are not pluged in the whole way.. damm those things are hard to get apart,, please tell me they will losen up with use,??? i know they are for the motor/esc connectors but i thought about using for batteries. if thats how hard they are to get apart then no way. im not a pansey, i litterly needed to use plyers to pull them apart when they were unused just bare bullets.Comment

Srislash, that's not what I wanted to hear, lol,, but like I said I had them so I figured why not use them on the motors, I'm not disconnecting them hardly ever. After feeling these and hearing you I'm gonna stick with the ec5's for batteries. I have yet to have an 8s setup pull enough amps to melt those soder joints. I am using a higher quality silver soder. I'm not saying they can Handel it just saying what I put through them they have worked fine. All I know is they are cake to disconnect compared to those 8's ( got them from kintec.) I'm waiting on clear coat to come in then getting near to setting her up, Soon I hope!Comment

here are some pics of the base paint, was supposta be crome, but i decided to use a different mix to end up with a dull chrome finish. i think the crome would show up too many inperfections. i tried to get some pics to come out better but when the clear coat shines up the dull cf i should be able to show better pics. i painted just the bottom of the sponsons and above the stingers, i will leave the rest for clear and decals. so more to come when the clear coat supplies show up.

like i said before im not much of a paint guy but this clear was comming out very well for me. look at the reflections. the pictures dont do this any justice.

i covered the fighter cat logos with clear and i have some more decals to put on, these may be temporary. im eventually going to be airbrushing chrome ghost real flames on and below the waterline with some coming over the tip of the sponsons. i dont want to do that till i get her in the water and running well. its always an ongoing project. building is part of the fun and now im going to have some kick-a** style to blow by the jet skis at our riverlot!!Comment

oh and i forgot to mention i put some prism flakes in the paint. these pics dont really do it justice, had to turn off the flash and use a flashlight. even then it doesnt show real well. this will really add some bling when full sun hits it and you are at the right angle.

a pic of the seal on the windsheild and a view of the cooling hose through the back. that cut out really makes it nice using bulkhead fittings.Comment

i forgot to put these in before i painted, so the bottom needs some touch up work and repaint. but i just thought i wanted to have dedicated cooling lines for the motors and esc. so better now than well better... i used some 5/32 aluminum tube and just bent to form then trimmed flush on the bottom. just like the truhull pickups , just made um.Comment

now bear with me, i have some more final work to be done, hose clamps, wire ties, polishing, eventually some real ghost flames on the bottom of the sides, ect but here are some pics of almost done.
