Stay with the V1,, the simmy square shape of the corvette looks better has more of a factory look too, and i think the mobile1 is good where you have it,, besides most race boats, cars etc, have a group of sponsors not spaced wayout and i just like the way it looks!!!!

I like v2 better myself. Mainly because it's not screaming corvette at you and still reminds you that it's schemed after the racecar.

I was spraying my clear yesterday. Had a mishap. The canopy was on a box outside in the sun drying aside the boat that was on another box. The wind gusted and blew the canopy over and it fell about 4ft and hit the pavement driveway. So it messed up my paint work. You can't believe how mad I was! So I'll have to sand and repaint a few areas and hope it goes ok. Lucky it was about 95% of only yellow it messed up. And a small nick in the black.

Got to splash her today. Did really well too. I only hit full throttle a couple of short burst but never got to full speed. Mainly because I want to drive it a few times before trying to go fast first. Too scared to flip and wreck after all that work! But she really came alive on those short burst! Temps were good despite my going slower.

I've still got some paint work to fix and a few little things. Felt good to see her going tho and knowing it was built with my own hands.

Man - She sure is a looker. I really like the leopard motors (so far). I have a 3674 1700kv (usually on 4s) on my boat and it rips! Plenty of power and torque. Cant wait till you get some speed numbers.

Yeah she weighs in at about 9.5lbs loaded with two 4S 4500 45c packs and everything else. I was just using the x442 pair today. I hope to get a small gps to get some speed numbers once I get a good feel for how shes gonna be. Or I may use my eagle tree and it's gps. But I put 6mm motor bullets and 8mm battery bullets on this build so I'd have to change connectors on the eagle tree as well.

Stupid clear coat came off with the hatch tape. I prepped it and did everything I should have. Idk. But I'm going to flake what I can off then sand it and respray it with some regular rustolem clear.

I'll bet this boat will do 70+ mph with those motors. if you can keep the bow down. I want to get a GPS or Eagle tree system soon. Now I use a simple but accuate method to "clock" em. If you dont have one try Bushnell "velocity". They make a nice little "radar gun" speed unit you can get for $70 ish.. see here http://www.bushnellspeedster.com/. You get an accurate real time MPH/kph. I know its not the most elegant solution but for a quick and dirty run it works.

When I am by myself I just attach it to a camera tripod with either a bungie, velcro strap or tape whatever. I then use a velcro strap to hold the trigger down. Then just run the boat threw the beam at WOT.

I see now they have a new gun with a seperate BIG LCD display so others can view speeds. Maybe a cool thing for a RC boat race.

Wow that's a nice looking boat. Very well done. I have an Apparition (think its the same) and mine sat low in the water at the back too but I moved the batt into the front practically where yours are and I haven't had a problem. I just felt with the back end sunk down it didn't turn as well as it could. I got 55MPH so far on mine but not at full throttle. I have a video of it when it wasn't balanced and was running 2 x2s 5000mah in series to each motor. Flipped it...
