Let us know how she goes! Just a little info for you, mine is bouncy at about 1/2 throttle and once I pass that it levels out and hauls A$$. I believe this to be becasue the thrust from the prop and the air under the tunnel are at a speed which can hold up the weight of the lipos, just my 2 cents. My nervs are always on edge when I give it full throttle!

I fitted up the leopard 4082 2200kv last night, I'll run it on 4s2p and a m545 and see how she goes with that. I've got the bottom of the strut 6.3mm above the sponsons. Is low-mid timing where these leopards like to be??? I bench tested it and found the sheft/coupler to wobble a little at higher rpm, that'll ease up when under load won't it????

my 4082 likes 11.25 timing anything past that I did not see a gain in speed or a decrease in amp draw, as for the wobble, I would get it fixed. every little bit helps!

do you think I may have just been giving it a few 1000 rpm too many unloaded??

              4Sx 2200Kv is just right imo ... for a small cat. 29-32" @ <6lb/2.5Kg

wobbles are bad, causes vibration, robs power, adds heat, kills bearings/shafts .. is it the coupler? .. or motor rotor ? :horrors:

timing .. on a delta wind use low.. on wye use 8-15

performance in your small pond is not comparable to ppl who have longer straights where they can 'wind up' to a max speed.. sprinting is always hard to configure.
ergo, dont expect same ets as ppl in longer water.

              cheers

I'll try another coupler tonight and see if it's that, otherwise it must be the motor roto, great, I'd hate to have to ship it back to steve.
I think I'll start driving from that spot i was telling you about, it's a nice long streight with a bench seat that protudes out for good vision in about the mid point of the streight.

Simpler.. take off the coupler, power up motor, and voila.. shake or no shakes ?

Damn, not so simple. I just had a chance to play around with it and without a coupler it seems ok but even with a brand new coupler it still has that little wobble and vibration, what the????????? Am I just being a dick, I'm reving it up to around 1/2-3/4 throttle.

Is the collet loose? if you can spin the collet "tightening" piece by hand, then it could be moving around, you could take it off or tighten it for testing.

I think I may have found the problem with my lack of speed, I ran it yesterday and tried everthing I have suitable a x440/3, x642, m445, m545, m645 and still stuggled to break 50mph. The night before I had replaced the hughey flex drive with a jeff wholt due to the shaft being shorter, I thought this might help a bit but all it did was show me how much the shaft is rubbing where the strut meets the stuffing tube. The wholt shaft now has a small groove just before the shaft joins with the flex. I think it out of line from raising the bottom of the strut up to 6mm, I'll have to play around with the stuffing tube to get it better in line with the strut. I ordered the speedmaster 21 strut last night to replace the crappy stock one, I'm hoping this'll sort it out.
