You are an impatient one , aren't you??

I got the motor mount yesterday and the workmanship from River Rat is first rate!
However, when designing something over the internet there can be interpritation issues ( as well as inadequate drawings from me ).

          But hey,,,,we will adapt.

The side rails fit like a glove except the bow slots do not provide enough up and down movement to align the motor with the angle of the shaft. Right now that end is sitting on top of the existing mounting bolts. I will have to moe these mounts up ,,,,not to big of a deal. I love the fact that River threaded the holes on the side rail, no fumbling with hardware from below!

The actual mount is not high enough when mouting the motor the traditional way. The can hits the base and I still have to install the cooling jacket, If it ever gets here. (slight jab at Fine Design).

Now if I flip it around, everything is good....opinions, does anyone think this is a BAD idea, I think it would be fine.

Again thanks to River Rat for some first rate quality harware

            SOLUTION FOUND !!!!!

I found the original Motor mounting brackets (for the Zenoah) that were supplied with the hull. Turned them upside down on the existing mounting bolts and PRESTO, the added height lines up the motor shaft to the prop shaft angle perfectly.

Drilled a few new hole to line up with River Rats side brackets and the world is perfect again

Looks like we could trim some weight off the side rails.
Thats a lot of motor. Does it need some support in the rear? Plenty of holes to work with, lol.

Hey Doby, this is one I cant wait to see run as well, I am wondering as to what prop you are starting with for tuning and if you have any specs and a link maybe. You are using 1/4" drive I take it? I didnt think OSE carried any that large and wondered if I could start a search soon for one of my own. At least I know who NOT to order it from!!! Hint Hint to FD. Thanks for sharing this build and hope the water loosens up the day after you get er done.
