I had a great time running with you this year. We kicked arse in Queenstown and had some major fubars in Chesapeake but it was all good in the end. Cant wait to see what next year brings!!! We had a motley bunch in Chesapeake but I expect a 1000% improvement next year. Hopefully Mr Smock can make it up again and will see a noticable improvement. I hope we can lighten his trailer for the trip home and keep some of that wood in the D12 next year.
That guy in Delaware is pretty cool, I had a big ole tin of popcorn show up as well.
Kent you are too cool sir!! Thank you!!
Guys, Paul and I are looking forward to your race next year, and are going to do our absolute best to get back up there. Maybe we can get some of the other guys to come with us. D-12 Rocks!!

      Merry Christmas fellas!!!

          Mike;
Will run the little 26" DF w/9L on 4s power. :-)

If The open mono gets opened up for FE, I will probably take the 90CMB out of the Insane Mono and run either the 2 CC or 2 Suppo 3740 motors on 6s.

Would love to see a twin mono Carl. Have you seen any nitro monos with twins? Most seem to think it wont work, but I dont think too many people have tried it out.

If they open up ONM to FE, I'll probably get a 38 'ducer for the 1527. I think it will have a better survival rate than a .60 Sprint Cat in Open Cat.

Merry Christmas to you and I want everyone here to know you were the very first step in getting the FE's in D12 when you answered my email and welcomed me and John (the only FE's) into the Capitol Club.

                you are very welcome Mike.

That will be $65,492.38 please. LOL

yeah a couple of us had twin monos when we were stationed out in Phoenix back in the late 80's. Ran twin K&B 7.5's in aeromarine monos and prather cutdown hulls. counter rotating props, senter of struts set about 1/8" below the keel of the boat, central or offset rudder.
worked great. just about as fast and more stable than the single engined 80-90 boats back then when pushed hard.

Will have to wait and see if Don opens it up to FE. (hope so)

If i do decide to gut out Insane, it will take maybe about 2-3 hrs. to do it to prepare it for FE conversion.

That would be cool. I was thumbing through Mr. Finch's advanced model boating book and did find a few pics of a twin nitro mono set up although it had a very shallow V.

For Christmas I got a Minkota Power Center for the deep cycle battery. The Pic is from amazon.com. You cant see it but it also has two cigarette lighter outlets. Also got a new top for the trusty old steel framed EZ up.

dont forget, you can also use the generator to power your battery charger as well.

yeah, that is a very nice topper for the charging battery for sure.

Mike, it also depends on the type of V boat running, shallow, moderate V (insane mono), Deep V (Dumas, Prather, ect.)

That also dictates how the struts are set and the placement of the rudder.

The power connections are convenient, but it's also nice to have a little extra insurance if the battery spills a bit of acid. I have had chunks of carpet missing from the last three SUV's I've owned. LOL Also holes in my cloths from loading up the battery.

She is all finished up. Just need to get some Lipos. 4S packs are not going to fit outside the rails so 2S it is. I was thinking of going 1P with two 2s Thunderpower 45C 6500's in series but they would be too thick at about 25mm. Plus Mr. Smock thought I was nuts. So I just ordered four Hyperion 2S 45C 4200's from sailr whom I highly recommend for the best price on Hyperion packs. Why 4200's and not 5000's??? The 4200's are about 25mm shorter which gives me more room to slide the packs back and forth to adjust the CG. Time to get Chuck (egneg) to cut me some props. CG right now with no packs or prop is a bit over 29%. It's going to be a couple month before I can get her in the water. On to the the next project.
