    Chili,

How did you end up with your Ducer this year? As it was already mentioned in this thread the Ducers can be difficult to get set up correctly due to their sensitivity to CG changes. I am considering building one for P-Limited power but haven’t decided yet. I may need to email Jerry and see if he can still build a 29” version rather than the 33”.

    Thanks
    Mike

Well Mike, this story did not have a happy ending. The attachement shows what my ducer ended up looking like after the second time it touched the water. It was running at heat racing speeds at oval trials this spring and while I was trying to dial her in, she stuffed. As you can see, the deck peeled back and broke off. Luckily the electronics were not distroyed. I shot a email to Seaducer boats and shipped the hull back to them (for the second time". Their response after having the boat for two weeks was that the hull/deck separations was no ones fault . They did offer a replacement hull at a reduced price. I emailed back that if this was the best they could build a boat that I don't want it. So I'm basically out over $300 from the experience.

I understand Jerry is a very nice guy and a great racer, but he does not build the production boats available to the public. Thats all I'm going to say about that.

        Wow Dude!

Sorry about throwing salt into an old wound (wasn't on purpose). I have seen A LOT of nitro powered Ducers over the years dunk (hence the term Sea-Dunker), but never seen one split open like a clam. Sorry to hear about it. It sure is making me think twice about one.

        Later,
        Mike

No problem bro. I don't like trashing products online, but it is what it is. I bought a Seaducer based on its reputation knowing that putting one to together as a FE would be a total PITA. But I thought it would be worth it. I busted my butt doing what I thought was a very nice build and who ever manufactured the boat wouldnt even consider putting a new deck on it. I was told it would be too much work. Apparantly they considered my effort and money of little value. I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing they took hundreds of dollars from someone and left them with nothing in return. I guess I'm still a little bitter. LOL

Mike, I have been running a 29" Seaducer in our version of P Limited for a couple of years. We have to run the 45A Aqua or PB speed controls, and I run a BJ26 motor. My SD29 is a lightweight version (800g bare hull) and it is very quick with this combo. But it can be prone to the odd dunk or bobble, and has cost me a few races. But it is lighting fast in the turns. I think a 33 would be too big for the power (even with open speed controls).

For the money, I would get a DF29, much cheaper than the SD and probably more forgiving. I got my SD29 3rd hand, so it was cheap. Should be more room in the DF to make life easier as well. There's pictures of my SD29 in my gallery if you want to see how it all fits.

                Chiili,
Sorry to see the demise of your SD33. I was following this thread ages ago, and it just sucks to see what happened to it. Glad all the gear was OK.

The Rico is a great hull for a full blown P Mono.

Those shameless Rico owners always plugging thier boats!! .........

I've ended up switching to a Insane Mono. It's fast and handles chop well but mine has a tendency to spin out in the turns in race water unless I'm using HUGE turn fins. Some have been taking a bit off the back of the chines with good results. I'm still in the testing phase. For the last two months, everytime we try to hold a test'n tune it rains......except for last weekend when it snowed.
