I hate to sound like a broken record but I agree with Jay , that motor would be the first thing out of there and a Neu 1521 or larger , even a Feigao 580 would be a good drop in for a budget setup . your Lehner 2240 would work great

      OK.

      I like it.

How about 12s and a Little Screamer?

Now Pete knows what boat the motor mount I asked him to make is for.

The question is, should I chase any more setup or just rip out the junk and go to town?
I stuck a 45mm prop on the shaft, so might try that in the morning.

I'm really not keen on keeping the motor/ESC, so maybe list it for sale and buy some wire drives with the paypal $$. =)

Tear it out! It will never run good the way it is stock. If you prop up, the motor/esc are gonna go. And, it needs a big prop! A littlescreamers may work very well. I'd go with a big Neu if it were me.

Well, honestly, I'm out of budget for this stuff for a while, so trying to go with "in hand" as much as possible. I happen to have a screamer & monster 2000 in hand... as well as 4 brand new 6s lipos...

Guess the real problem here is the prop is slipping because it is too small to push the hull and the bigger prop requires a bigger motor, more amps/volts and bigger ESC.

Guess we have our conclusion on the stock setup! I'll pull it out before I blow it up.

            =)

So, what kind of amerage were you pulling? This is where an eagle tree really helps, especially with a rpm meter. You can watch your speed vs prop rpm and amperage. Pretty neat actually.

Yeah, I've been dragging my feet on buying one... Almost tucked one in to my last order, but seems there's always something squeezing it out of the order.

Low... Very low. Except for the batteries, they were a bit hot. The ESC was about 110 and motor was around 90. Cells were 130.

maybe that motor could take more prop with no issues?

Nooooo. Dont do it! As soon as the prop does start to hook up, that motor will pull waaayyy too many amps trying to push that big boat.

Just for giggles. Lets say, that since the motor is the same saize(relatively) that it is a neu 1515 1y. This is a 41" boat right? I have ran the 1515 1y and Neu/Castle 1515 1y in a DF 33 and Rico 31" mon on 4s 2p with a CC lv 240 and Seaking 180. Amp spikes were high enough with the Rico and a x645 prop to take out my trusty seking that I ran for the past 6 months and get that 240 pretty damn hot. My fault, as it was overpropped just a tad. Now, with this motor, being probably less efficient, It will pull more amps. Put that in 10 more inches of hull. Now try to put a big enough prop to move it well. I see bad things happening. I wouldn't do it. It isn't worth a very stinky stcky mess and damaged gear. I'd sell the gear, and put the money towards bigger stuff, or more lipos!! When your esc goes, poof, then you will be kicking yourself. I'm still super bummed about my Rico gettin stinky and slimy. It doesn't take much at all to push stuff past it's limits in most cases.
