    Single or twin motor?

There are several combinations that seem to work well with this hull. Twin 540 size motors have been known to reach the 50+ MPH mark up towards the 70's.

Some updates! Wow, it was a bit tricky getting the washers on to screws I could't see or touch for the rudder! Everything else seemed to go OK. Although I'm pretty sure I mounted the stingers a bit too high. Helps for a straighter driveline though.

Speaking of which. Not quite sure where to mount the motors just yet. Motors are still MIA in packages with non-trackable tracking ID's.

Was thinking of mounting dual out spouts in the rear area of the hull... then I came to my senses and will put one on each side near the nose of the cowl.

Is the prop under the boat or is it coming out behind ?
If it is under how big of a prop will fit if the stringers are running level ?

The stingers extend beyond the transom, may not look like it in the photos.

I have those Stingers for my twin setup too.

I drilled the 4mm lead teflons out and put in 3/16" instead.

              Good to know Ray, thanks!

Just an update, the tracking number finally showed up as a package. It was shipped yesterday.
10 days in transit for sure, but at least now I know when. Still have a few orders that are MIA.

                Motors are in!

Neat little guys and very LIGHT!

I'm still working on motor placement and setting up the drive tubes. This will be my first time installing drive tubes from scratch.

                I'm following these principles:

Keeping the shaft as straight as possible with one a single direction bend in the tube as minimally as possible.

I'll post up a shot of the tube before installation.

My order for a 1600Kv is still dragging.... It's in Montreal right now in customs OY!

I've been waiting 2+ weeks for this thing and longer for an ARC motor from California.

It sucks to be in Canada sometimes...

Sometimes I see more Canadian license plates than local here in FL. Usually about Feb/March.

Cut the stuffing tubes to length. I managed to get the bend down to very slight and decided to use a pair of wire drives. Cool stuff.

This will use the same length/size drives as the EKOS wire drives that Jeff Wohlt makes.

                          Well... I haven't!

I just finished using some small dabs of CA glue to hold them in place for the next step.

I was planning on using a piece of fiberglass cloth and some fiberglass resin I have here.

Is there something special I should know?

I scuffed the bare mounts to remove the anodizing and drilled a few holes to allow the resin to have more "bite". Used the dremel on low speed to scuff the aluminum nicely.

Ahhh, you lowered the mounting holes & the U channel, I knew I had to do that also... Looks like it will work fine with cloth etc... I was just curious. Nice pictures...
