Now to decide... What decals to apply? I have numbers already setup and ready, but really nothing else.

That is sweet paint work. Try to take pics in early morning, evening with indirect lighting, the colour will pop a little better.

Of course Howard Tucker could give better advice, he's a pro photographer.

Still working on the photo's, but these are closer and with the numbers applied.

Some without the fill flash, the camera picks up way more gold than I see and comes out a couple of shades lighter. It looks more of a cherry red. Which.... isn't bad at all.

              Choosing between 1600Kv and 2200Kv, I went 2200Kv.
Mostly because I have a few other motors that are 2200Kv.

Might get some really good performance on 4s.

Dammit... they just had to be red. OK, well that makes up for the ESC cost and keeps the total build cost under $350. I'll get some exact numbers when I'm done. The paint added $40 but still have quite a bit left.

PS- the second photo really shows the thickness of the last wet coat! Somehow got the perfect angle to show the texture is a nice deep gloss. I may wet sand it a bit and flatten it out... although a good coat of wax will level it out nice and smooth.

Did you change and go with the Red Leopard motors?

Thought about it... but didn't want to spend any money on this boat. It's an experiment with left over stuff.

But, being the HK outrunners Ray photo'd above were red and I've wanted to see how outrunners perform.... for $19, I said, why not give them a try.

Are you still planning on running these motors to the EKOS props ?
                        32 or 36 mm?

I can see that 100A esc per side would be nice and then out to the ekos props.
                        See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Yep, starting small and working my way up. We'll see what works. I now have a good assortment of CR prop sets to work with.

Cool. If they work out well, might end up with 4 more drive sets. The wires seem to be bullet proof!

                              Das Boot!

Wet sanded and ready for some small touch ups and final clear coat!

This paint is TOUGH! I've laid about 6 coats of Acrylic Lacquer and it held up quite well to wet sanding and is crazy smooth. Can't wait to see it finished.
