..and you bent the mounts also. i was debating doing that or just using a wood wedge. KISS, I guess. Less parts is a better way to go.

They are cheap enough, figured if I messed them up I wouldn't be out much. I would rather have bought straight mounts and bent them myself, didn't realize these needed adjustment till after I had them in hand. Hind sight!

How is the stinger placement compared to your RTR EKOS? They do seem a little higher than normal. Are you going to leave them there?

I just ordered some on eBay, it was expensive. Maybe we should ask Steve to stock some, it is very useful and I will need more!

The cable exit points are very close to the EKOS and allows the wire to be almost straight. Unless I have any problems, I'll keep them here. With the stingers being so far behind the hull, I don't anticipate any issues.

              She's ready to get wet!

I found a pair of 70 amp ESC's that should work perfectly for this boat. They are air cooled, so mounted them next to the outrunners fans. On the dry dock test, I couldn't get them to produce any heat at all. For starters, will be running 3s, 3000mah 20c packs. They are nice and light, the whole boat weighs in at just over 5lbs. 2515 grams.

Starting props are the 36mm 3 blade counter rotating Venom props. I also have a set of 447's ready to test.

Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's not perfect, it's not show quality, it's not bling... it's Das Boot. My first DIY FE boat.

I think the total build cost came in under $300. I'll get an exact number once I'm happy with the performance and final configuration.

I'm hoping for the morning! Should probably put it in the pool tonight to make sure it floats!

Sweetness! Thanks for the offer on the esc by the way. I'll consider it, just don't really have the $ to spare right now.

No worries, just offering to help out. I'm sure I'll have some setup questions on the new V-Hull.

Maybe I'll put it together tonight...

Looking good! Well I hope your maiden run is successful.

Lately, everytime I go to the lake I have nothing but grief. Honestly, sometimes this hobby can be so discouraging. Damn tunnels! lol.

I would make a suggestion to maybe tape up the motor connectors to avoid any possible arcs or short circuits.

NIce work, i hope it runs as good as it looks! No bling my eye, thats a sharp cat man!

I have the same mounts as you, just slow as heck. I'm building a larger cat right now with 7S & a single Turnigy t600 outrunner, monster 4030 motor.

Careful with 47mm props and 70 amp esc's... you might cook something there....

Yeah, that's the part I would really like to avoid. I would like to build something relatively fast that is fairly predictable.

Yeah, the ESC's are just an experiment.. we'll see how well it moves and what kind of amp draw the plastic props create... I do have a pair of 125a HiModel ESC's ready to go as backup.

Thanks for the tip on the connectors. I really didn't notice how much gold is showing!
