    That's a nice setup there!

I've been exchanging emails with the guy that makes the Arrow Shark. He's not sure what hardware to use with an electric setup... He can set me up with the rudder controls/ servo mount & interior box though.

I'd just need the complete drivelines... this is where I get lost. They are all different sizes and I don't have a hull in hand to work from, so it's just guessing a la carte... Not gonna happen.

Hpr 08 is 53" I believe. Hull and hardware will run you over 1k but you will have the finest 50" cat money buys and can be upgraded with better motors later. They push these to 130mph with neu 2215's.
If you want quality and are willing to pay for it, Hanspeter's swiss built hulls are it.

Now that sounds like the perfect 50+ #2 project. I'll heed the advice of many others and start with a good hull and learn more about the drawbacks and disadvantages to help appreciate the perfection of a Swiss made hull.

Ich kenne Schweizer Qualit?t. Zehr gut.

Right now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Arrow Shark. He's going to set me up with drive tubes and a rudder system.

I'll need help putting together the parts for the motor mounts, drives & props. Looks like I'll need a hatch locking system too.

Kinda hard to see, but ask him the dim of the sponson transom under the transom overhang. Be sure there is enough room if you want to do stingers. Otherwise you will be forced to use struts only... unless thats what you are wanting. Good looking hull.

Considering it's a 53" boat, on scale is hard to say what the dimensions are from the photo. I sent him an inquiry. What are the size requirements for stingers? (I don't even know what ones to use or what size drive tube)

On the dimensions, he only lists the beam as 15 inches. Not sure what the overall width is. I'm assuming a couple inches more, like 53x18 which would indicate about a 1" x 3" mounting area with about a 2" overhang... just a guess.

Should I go with 1/4 or 3/16 drive tubes?

Does one or the other limit prop selection?

Go 1/4" without a doubt. These big boys have been built with lehner 3080 motors and thats 9 hp a side! The hulls are works of art.

Stingers or struts? If there's limited room for stingers, how limiting would it be to go with struts?

I see the adjustability of the stinger as an obvious advantage, but also see that the struts have some adjustment too.

Generally struts have more adjustment, but a stinger is more likely to fit in a cat if the transom is not a flat plate across the back.

I guess I'm confused then. The Stinger's I've seen seem to require more sponson transom space. (I think I said that right- the flat end of the pontoon like sides where the shaft comes out on the EKOS)

ive had this hull, you may get some small stingers on it.. they look ok too! plenty of room inside the boat, be careful with the gelcoat as it easily cracks

Good to know, thanks! Link to small stingers? The one's I'm seeing have a 47mm tall base. I know there's some that bolt into the overhang that would be better, just haven't found them.

If you are running tht 1515's go 3/16" 1/4 will probably rob too much power.
I would like to see the twin 3080 powered arrow shark. 2280's would be excessive. A pair of 3080's will push our 92" hulls around 100mph.
