Crazy isn't it? They are 600 class 10 pole motors so should have plenty of torque for the big props.

Finally, huh? It's been a year learning how to build/setup boats and deciding what I wanted to do. Fortunately I had the stingers made that will allow this to be a twin. Couldn't have done that last year.

Twin 3/16" drives. Most likely wire drives. Planning to use a pair of Pete Z custom made motor mounts bolted into the hull. No worries bout them coming loose.

Right now, waiting on water blocks for the ESC's and for the motor mounts to come back from anodizing.

OK, so I've upped the game. I just couldn't take it. It looked too much like a G-Freak setup.

            I'm going 16s 2p and twin LS on FC 150a ESC's.

            2 x 4500mah 10s bricks in series with 2 4500mah 6s bricks.

            Total of 32 4500mah 30c cells. ($350)

This isn't an over the top crazy ass idea, it's a real planned setup. The weight is just over the gas boat weight and the COG will be about 5 inches lower and wider since the batteries will fit in the sponsons.

This should be PLENTY of juice to spin up the LS motors to over 35,000 RPM.

I have a pair of 450/3's to start. Should be safe to start there.

I've got about 6 projects on deck, but this one's getting some good attention since it's using the new controllers and AFAIK, it's the only one using 16s.

yeah, this thread is where it all started. I knew nothing about FE and just wanted to build a boat...

Well, I've learned a lot and built a lot, so now I think I can finally build the boat I wanted to in the beginning.

The black ones are the motors you're referring to I think. They are big, but this hull is huge, so I went with the mammoth sized LS. They are almost 65mm around. Kinda like a soda can, maybe a little bigger. You get the idea though.

Where can a person see up close pics of the motors and the specs.

OSE used to carry them. I ordered a couple from Steve last year.

Not sure how to get a hold of the guy that makes them, but I'm sure he'll be delighted to know there's an HV controller that makes it come alive now.

Tell me about it. Well, it is moving along. Randy at BBY is making some LS mounts for the motors and I'm starting to layout the electronics in the hull.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to get her in the water by July.

Lol, no, but that's a funny name!

It sucked up two 5692 / 540 kv motors like they were trinkets. I've got two 20s ESC's ready to put 45 amps each into the motors for 7500 watts total (~8hp)
The point is to show super high voltage with low amps yields a higher efficiency that high amp systems. He he. 45 amp ESC's putting out close to 4000 watts each.

This will also make the batteries happy for longer run times. Less amp draw = less battery heat.
