Where did you get the caps? I know zero about caps so could you tell me exactly what type you are using. I am also running that same ESC. Where does it solder in to the ESC? Sorry for the questions, just thiking I need to do this also because I have already fried one of those ESC's.

The caps help deal with the amp spikes that occur when you are excellerating correct?

The caps are the exact ones that are on there now. I purchaesd them from cap king for $.60 each and free shipping. Haven't run it yet but theoretically it should smooth out the volatge ripple to the esc. The circut board is soldered directly to the input wires.

        Hi guys,

Nice looking boat you got there:)
I love Rico`s boats. The quality and finish of the hulls are flawless.

        I have the same hull equ with 240Hydra and Neu 1515 1Y. Running with 2xRhino 4s 4900mah.
But I have I problem:) I cant keep the boat on the water, she`s more an airplane.
What hight do you have the center of the propshaft? How long is the extension on the rudder? I have tried different CG but without any luck.

This boat should be very stable up into the 60 mph range. My propshaft is 1/2" up from the keel. Rudder leading edge is inline with the drive dog. My COG is at 28.5%. Trim tabs are also located further out to let the boat settle more in the water. Hope this helps, these hull are awesome.

I have run this esc with the extra caps. It cooled the caps down almost 30 degrees and the esc almost 5 degrees.

Thanks for the reply. I`ll check my strut hight tomorrow, just back from a weekend trip with the family.
But I am sure that my strut hight is a bit less then 1/2". I will also try to move the trim tabs out.
            I`ll be back:)

Nuthin wrong with the Feigao, just wanted to try something Neu.
This boat is really looking nice! Do you have a hard time getting at the coupler for cable greasing ect... with the motor wires over it? The layout really looks clean though, nice!

                Just a FYI.
I run up to one pound of lead in mine depending on the conditions.
                Love the boat!!

No. The esc is eld by Velcro. Just move it towards the side and there's enough room to get to the coupler.

With two 4s 5000's rtr weight is just over 10lbs

Man that thing must really scream! I hope to finish my boat soon. My life is just too nuts lately and NO free time. It just needs the swordfish ESC programed and I'll be able to go test it out. Good job on your boat, it looks great.

I`ve checked the strut hight and that is about 5,5mm from keel to senter of prop shaft
Then I have some cutting to do...
Do you guys use teflon liner?

some yes some no, everybody is happy with or without

in my opinion with the teflon liner the flex runs a little bit smoother and quiter especially at high rpm

very nice job! maybe you have already done this but just to coat the additional circuit board to waterproof it

This perticular build does not have a liner. It runs fine. Like Disar stated it's really up to you.
