34" cat, Feigao 580 8L, turnigy 5s2p 30c for 10,000mah, Seaking 180 esc and a M445 prop. Ran about 1 minute, fast as heck. Brought it in limping with very little power coming out of a turn to discover the heat. It did get warrantied however but it took a few months. I ran the new one just once in my rico, then sold it.

That Castle/Neu 1518 on 5s2p was a freaking beast in that hull. I ran a x548 prop in that bad boy!Comment

Well I got my replacement motor today and got to take her out. Did a extension for the rudder. Now she's much more stable and turns left! Thanks to Steven for the motor and Doug S. for the tunning tips.

Okay got a short run in before the sail boat guys took over
It was pretty windy with some pretty good chop. This is with a bag stock m447. I did not get a chance to play around with others or start to tweak it. So far I'm really pleased on how this hull handles the chop.

AGGHHH! looks great! Ran mine today. Seaking 180 4s2p 10000mah and Castle/Neu 2200kv 1515. 3 runs on this setup. It flew with the 645. Not going to lie. I smoked my first Seaking 180. Seriously pissed right now. I've had 4 Seaking 180's on very different and hot setups and no problems. This is the only one I've ever smoked and it made a total mess of my boat. Everything inside is covered in the stinky black tar. Gotta keep it in the garage cause it's so bad. Lipos look like shi*#! Motor and cooling can are stained poo brown. Sometimes I really hate FE boats. In the previous runs, nothing even got remotely hot. I think I snagged a lily pad when planing out and loaded it up. I'm slightly sick to my stomach right now as my Rico is probably my favorite hull and now it is a stinker.Comment

Yep, I guess I'll be scrubbing and disassembling tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll go back to my old setup. Castle/Neu 1518 and 5s2p with a x548 is the best setup I've ran on this rig so far. Just need to buy a new Castle/Neu motor. Yours looks to be running really good too. Have you run it in any chop yet? Thats when they get really fun. It's almost impossible to stuff these hulls, they just keep on ripping!Comment

Actually it's kinda hard to see in the video but it was pretty choppy. At least 4-5" chop. It does get alot sloppier in there though. From my experience with other hulls in the same conditions it's a lot better.If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!Comment

Well I got an early Father Day gift today.
It's a 1521 1.5d. She dropped in with little effort. Much thinner and exactly 3oz. lighter. Will try to give her a whirl tomorrow.

Well I got a few runs in with the Neu. With the same M447 it was almost the same speed as with the Feigao 580 but a little cooler (-10 degrees) with a less amp draw. I put on a x646 and wohoo! The feigao didn't respond well with the 6 series props but the Neu spins it no problem. Temps after a four minute run are motor 110, esc 130, batts 125 and burns about 8000 mah. Will try out a x447/3 and a x648 hopefully soon.
FWIW IMO those Feigao 580s are decent for the price.If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!Comment

Alrighty. After some running on the Neu I found the caps on the Turnigy get HOT. Iv'e taken readings of them in the 150* range with the bigger porps. ESC temps remain around 125-130 though.
