    4 Prop Conquest build

I'm going to start my Aeromarine Conquest build soon, this boat will be somewhat of a budget build with a twist ! I will be mounting up 4 540 9t XL's (the real cheap ones from H.C.) and 4 Turnigy 180's !! I will be making my own motor mounts with 2mm carbon fiber sheets and alluminum angle.I will use Speedmaster struts and possibley mono style turn fins( I also might design my own with 2mm carbon turn fins). I still need to figure my drive layout, I have three ideas, 1) struts spaced at the sponsons with left and right both at each sponson 2) struts center with boat , maximum centered with left n right on each side 3) struts evenly spaced across transom with left and right at oposite sponsons and a tight left n right at center of transom .I'm kind of leaning towards #2. I will be putting a single speedmaster dual pickup rudder with 4'' ext. down the middle. My goal with this boat in sport set up is 60mph on 4s and 80+ on 6s. I also bought 447x 2 blades left n rights , these worked good on my twin MM. I am also going to use a DX6I so can program my inside props to slow slightly in the turns.
I have been thinking of this build for a while now and I dont think I can go on with the FE hobby anymore with out building it !!Any sugjestions would be apreciated and considered for the build.I have seen some nice battery trays made from carbon fiber I would like to score if someone knows wair.Should start getting my stuff to build now, it was ordered last week ! It will be intresting !I think I will brand the boat '' Miss Overamped''
Its going to be intresting to see how much I will be able to pack in this thing !

    Bolted up hardware !

Just finished bolting struts n rudder up, this hull is perfect for this application I was a little worried tne two center struts wern't going to hang low enouph for this hull but with a little band saw work they should do just fine, I will drill out strut brackets and clamp strut with 5 or 6mm bolt.

        sick dude!!!!!

        Good luck with your build.
I like your mixing the channels idea for the motors.
I think that will work well.

An interesting project, I've seen several twin Conquests and Avengers but no quads. Hitting 60 on 4S might be problematic, there may not be quite enough prop pitch for those motors without tweaking - tough to do exactly the same on four different props. 80 mph on 6S perhaps, but that will be a SAW setup with 40,000 rpm motor speeds.

You did not note what packs you will use, nor their configuration - give it some serious thought. Remember that all the power in a boat is from the packs, not the motors. Your draw on 6S could be over 400 amps total, meaning you'll need 35C packs with a total of at least 12,000 mAh capacity if you don't want to damage your packs or ESCs. Stick to 4S and try different props, you'll have plenty of power (400 amps x 14.8 volts x 0.9 efficiency = 5300 watts = 7 hp) The Graupner carbon props work well in multiple motor setups, are cheaper, and are available in L&R configurations.

You do not need turn fins on a cat, all they'll do is add drag.

I planed on using 4 Turnigy 40c 5000ma 4s packs for power, I might go 5s , I will parrallel all power so the packs discharge evenly and will order 6 of them to up the discharge rate when I run 580L size motors later on. I dont know what the bec is rated for on the Turnigy 180's so i have ordered a lipo reciever pack . In the past I had a twin prop MM that ran 58mph on 20c 4s 4800ma, 9T 540xls with 447s I bought from FDM sharpened and balanced. That boat ran nice and cool on 4s with never any issues. The 447s on the MM were kind of big but it did accelerate pretty good !I will be sure to have plenty of discharge rating and ma ......lol....I already have been down that road with castle. ....

Thanks for the coments fellas ! I appreciate it ! I just placed a order for esc's and lipos, decided on 40c 4s 5000ma turnigy lipos.I also bought 4 Etti motor mounts from OSE ( I think I took all his stock)...lol.. Basicaly I have allmost everything to complete the boat , all I need is build time and I supose a trip or two to the local hobbie shop and hardware store.

                          Some progress pics

I am almost finished epoxying the sponson motor mounts and servo mount is almost finished, only needs front suport pillars and some round corners. I am using Super Epoxy, its the strongest and most easey to apply in my expieriance.

                              current progress

All motors are mounted , only need to finish with the epoxy on them and finish the stuffing tubes in sponsons then I will unbolt everything from the transom and back everything up with 2mm carbon fiber . Then will have to re-drill 24 holes
