ALL brushless motors will produce heat quickly with no load. No matter what the timing. Bench testing at high rpm is a very bad idea.

Next run out timing will be set at 0, when purchasing the Turnigy esc's I highly recomend the programing card, it didn't even take 5 min. to program 4 esc's in the boat !Attached Files"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... In my test run my drives were butted up against octura thrust washers with no measured gap for cable shrinkage, my thought was the that the play in the teflon liner would be enouph for cable shrinkages and the octura thrust washers would minimize the friction between the drive dog and strut. I like to thrust my boats with the strut , I believe this is the way to build a great handling boat. I have heard that that leaving to much of a space sends the thrust point to the motors and is a good way to make your boat plane out flater but this type of thrust is really bad on you cables and stuffing tubes."Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... Thanks RUMDOG , just getting some pre test jitters. Like the good advice on this forum sometimes ask questions that I kind of allready know the answers too but need to be sure .Will be testing friday , should have the local lake to ourselves , am going to try a pass with thrusting point on motors( I may change my mind on this one, seems like it would stress the cable too much) then going to experiment with thrust bearings on struts . Hopping to gain another 5-10 mph
Also a few esc timing changes. Then might order some 8xls and soom cooling jackets
Will have some more video later with more speed on laps."Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction."

I too prefer load on the strut, but i try to run a little cable gap to allow for cable shrinkage, I have broken cables by running them too tight.Comment

Wowzerrzz !!! This boat is fun ! Tested with a gap of about 2 mm and handling was a bit twitchy , still predictable though , but the hull didnt settle on the water very well. ESC timing was at 0 deg.. I got pretty wild with it , new videowww.youtube.com/watch?v=HVcBR85vC_Q Next time around I will run new motors and possible thrust differential.
This is a video from today of my old Titan 29'' going 52.4 mphThe new owner is very happy

That is a great place to run boats...........looks weedless, nice clean shoreline.........most likely snake-free............ Did you record your temps after that last vid run?
And yes..........................the boat still rocksNEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Cool video I love the 4 rooster tails! Can you change the pwm on the esc? That may help the cogging. I may be the last to realize this buy you are the one with the 75mph mean machine on youtube!!!!!! That thing is crazy!FE BOATING: Less like a hobby and more like an addiction!Comment

The lake I was at is part of Bakersfield newest baseball park complex and was recently filled after being empty for a couple years.
