A light sandable filler composed of microballoons and z-poxy. Then I'll glass mat the cowl and hatch all as one piece, and prime. It will come out nice but it was more work than I wanted to do, but hey you get that with scales. If I wanna cry i better find another love huh?The next one I'll do the grill cloth method ,I talked about; it will be so much quicker.I definately plan on getting with the gentleman doing the sport 40 atlas build on those epoxy-glass cowls.I wanted to do a u-12 bud but the cowl was just too much detail.I mean I can do it ,but Im too anxious to run. Im going to run this one as soon as I seal the wood. Im not even going to wait to mount the wings;I cant.

Im considering other motors too. I dont know about 2650kv on 2s ? I think i need 3s. The plans call for a .05 brushless inrunner a C.C. 4400kv mamba motor on 2s?
What do you think? This 2650 kv 550 df motor on 3s im hoping sure can swing a x632 for at least 3min.

KR thats phat. That paint is wet brua.Nice job! That last shot of the real boat is what ive been looking for. If you notice on my build; my cockpit area is square up front.I needed that pic cause it showed me a top view of the cockpit.See; its rounded up there i gotta change that.Hey, KR dont u have a squire shop? Is it a 1980 u2? Are the verticle wings swept toward the front or back of the boat.

Ive got the 78 U-64 Squire non-winged pickle. Scales are a lot of fun. The Atlas took me 2 years to get together.

XFACTOR Scales lose a little speed in the corners but typically hit high 50s- lows 60s straightaway speeds in competition.

JERRY glad to see my Vegas getting a fresh look! Keep up the good work!

I started sealing filling the pinholes in the cowl. I use zpoxy and micro balloons. I mix it to a consistency where it wont drip off my mixing spoon. I apply it with a an old bankcard or something. After it cures I may have to apply another final skim coat;then Ill sand it and prime it . Ahhh! just what it needed.
