A part worth <4c failed today, turned my smile upsidedown.
Nipple on ESC parted from it's thread, filling the hull with water... solder droplets from the overheated esc stain the Hull !
The SF240HV have 3 temp sensors, my prototype just the 1.
Im guessing metal fatigue the 24 months since build caused the fracture..
The other esc came home happy.. with cooling these guys survive anything.

Due the Japanese Tsunami.. the manufacturer's stockpile of fets and caps used in these esc are now unavailable ( unless you're underwater 20+ miles offshore ).
Retooling to make more is still 12+ months.
So in fact I have lost 2.
One has died, the other unusable in a twin, as I cannot give it a mate.

This sees me drydocked for 6+ weeks whilst I build a new pair matched esc. .. or longer if I remember where I hid that damned corkscrew !

Shock... just remembered I have a 29" Mean Machine on it's way needing esc, motor, servo and driver !
Ideal spot for this lonely single esc to while away it's last few years
Bought it from a mate who has turned to the dark side

yeah, already changed out the nipples on the surviving esc !

          One word... bugger.
Buy a Mini to while away the time. At 70 kph you are going to scare crap out of the neighbors cats with one of these. They wont outrun it.
Well I am off to work at Kmart so the young people have someone they can call a fat ugly old prick. Playful little angels they are. A good trip in the army would do most of them a lot of good. It would be an introduction to discipline for the majority of them.

Doc this is what we are going to build next year...

There are 2 spare rooms for model boaters on holidays. Douggie, Chuck and ozzie can all take that as a hint. Doc you will have the key to the front door so come and go as you please. Douggie when you come you can teach me how to drive a boat.

A few questions in a jumbled order of insignificance
                    How far from:
                    1. The lake.?
                    2. The pub.?
                    3. The cathouse.?
                    4. The ferry home?

In exchange,I'll send you a key to my side door ( coz it's wider than the front )

The house will be in Beaconsfield Doc. If you like fishing we can take the tinnie out in the river and catch a few of those too.

I like fish of all varieties, most particularly the cooked type.
Last time fishing was '92 as deckhand on a friend's 80ft deep sea charter boat.
I do miss hooking up the worm.
Okay, I catch, you cut and cook. deal ?

If you've a jellybelly, does June get to spoon you at night ? ...

You can play with your worm but not out on the boat. Imagine my boat as about the same size as your friends except the last 66 feet are missing. I am all for the fish and chip shop so lets just stick to the FE boats.

Anything under 50ft is a model.

Best fish&chip feed Ive had, was served on Hobart wharf, waiting for arrival the Sydney-Hobart yachts new years 2002.
A suggestive email invitation for bed&breakfast, materialized into a tasty local wench feeding me wonderful battered fish morsels...washed down with a variety of local beers .. One day became ten, became 2 trips to Tas.
