This is a country founded on dissent and immigration.Not every person on this continent believes in any particular deity but they might all stand behind the Country. Why should they be forced to pledge allegiance to a deity at the same time they pledge allegiance to the Country ??

Is "Love thy neighbor as thyself", "Do not covet your neighbor's wife", "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "Thou shalt not steal", "Thou shalt not lie", "Thou shall not commit adultry", "Honor your father and mother", "You shall not kill", etc... so "Steeped in religion" that they shouldn't be part of a decent and MORAL society??

We are fed this BS everyday about "Celebrating the differences"... How about CELEBRATING THE SIMILIARITIES and tolerating the differences??? A society can NOT survive if there isn't a common ground on which to ground it.

And now Obama wants to select Judges based on criteria that would have them consider the PERSON being juged on which to make their decisions... Their color... their race... their orientation.... their financial backgroud...

Justice is suppose to be BLIND... but Obama wants to take off the blindfold with his selection of judges for the Supreme Court...

How is this good for society?? We have already become a Nation where there are 'special rights' for minority groups... We're about to become divided even further, and ironically, it's going to happen under the premise of "Bringing us together"... "The Change we Need"??? HARDLY!

As I noted, I was merely posting the ideas that some pretty well known people have said. And as far as my right to do so, well Dude, I served, did you?? Every male in my family since WWI has served their country, so give me a break about the lecture of the troops and such.

My and mine have ALL laid it on the line to preserve and protect this great nation. How about you??

And BTW - as I have noted elsewhere my younger brother is over there right now. And he also served in the first Gulf War.

No one said anything about stifling your right to worship as you please...I said why should I be forced to worship as you do by pledging allegiance to a deity I may not particularly believe in .
