It easy to see how the antichrist will come to power, isn't it. I'm not saying that BO is the antichrist, just saying people will blindly follow what others do. Kinda like "SHEOPLE"
I'd be truly interested to hear from anyone who's mind has been changed by anything written in this thread.
I think you'd be suprised... Once people get both sides of the story, which hasn't really happened in popular media, they can suddenly start thinking for themselves...
I don't expect any of this to affect my boat racing or who I "pal around" with... But then, I'm on the Right, and it's been shown in studies that the most accepting people in our society tend to be on the Right... Which is actually VERY IRONIC!!

No really. Most peolpe on the right, my self included, are somewhat to very religious. God commands us to love one another. You know the old "hate the sin, not the sinner!"

Clearly...
Interestingly enough... this is very similiar to how Stallin, Mucelini, Mao Tse Tung, and yes, even Hitler, came to power...
All was fine and dandy except for that little "ethnic cleansing" thing...
The papers here (New York Post?? or Times, etc.)... HAILED Mucelini initially... He was wonderful... Funny how perspectives can change...
What is it they say??? 'In hard times, people will follow Jesus or Hitler'... or something to that effect...

Unfortunately, this thread accomplishes nothing but to get some people rattled IMO. I'd be truly interested to hear from anyone who's mind has been changed by anything written in this thread.
Actually, this has been a rather civil discussion of opposing points of view. No, no one will change anybody's mind, but it has allowed those on both sides to express their views.

I agree. The majority of this thread is a good, spirited conversation. Lot's of information and good things to think about. I don't see the Dems adding as much content as the Reps though, I wonder why that is?
Seriously, if your mind has been changed by this thread, you are the one I want to hear some input from. I'm just curious, and believe most 2-party political discussions yield zero results. At least that is my experience when debating the inlaws.

My OPINION on this is that the Left (I prefer to use Left and Right as opposed to Repubs and Dems for this type of discussion) frequently employs symbolism over substance when making political arguments. Sentences begin with "I feel that..." as opposed to "I know that...." Vague discussions of "fairness" ensue based on how someone "feels" about a particular position. Equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity is the goal.
To the Left, there are no basic core values; almost anything is OK. Fred wants to marry Bob? No problem, as long as it feels good. To the Right, there are well-defined values, often based on religious or constitutional fundamentals. Fred can't marry Bob. Period. End of discussion. It's in the Bible.

But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.
Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.
"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

I'm just going to answer the last few Team Jet and Jordan posts with smilies so I don't offend anyones delicate sensibilities..
Ghost
Damn, Doc... I'm only second again!!!
Mr. Ghost... You really can't offend me... I've already accepted that on the Left... "turning a blind eye" is a montra... It's just what you do over there...
I just can't help going back to what Biden himself said recently...
"If it walks like a duck, and Quacks like a duck..."
Apparently only applies one direction...
I hope someday I can understand how people can just simply brush asside SO MUCH information as being "insignificant"... Especially when it cuts to the heart of this country and what it was founded on.
You know... we CAME from Europe because we DIDN'T like what was going on there and DIDN'T want to be like that... Now there is a movement to return to those ways???
Do you REALLY believe, after hearing ALL of the evidence, much of which is from BO himself, that he'll defend the Constitution, after saying way back in 2001 that it's fundamentally flawed??
