Not too bad but they are no mics or amplifiers to be seen, just another video setup....I trust that your DIY speaker construction goes well and put the best wiring and crossover you can afford...what amplifier are you using and preamp? or is it a receiver amp or amp and preamp combined?

I have recently fallen head over heels for this band www.wilcoworld.net. For some reason they connect with me very well. They recently did a “NPR Tiny Desk Concert” in support of their recently released album. This is the title track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mYg7lyTCS0

This is the entire NPR show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZAKTCeE70Y

I have recently ventured into the DIY speaker world too. I am only at the entry level for now. Actually I bought a kit that had everything included (well worth the price)…

On the PE forum as well as others, the Tritrix's are all the rage for their price range. Let us know how they sound.

There are actually amps in there, looks like they may be plugged in, and a couple of mics on the desk, no way the vocals were picked up that cleanly with that mic setup though, too much separation between the vocals and the rest of the acoustic rigs.
I've been in the studio recently working on our demo, in one take my vocal mic was also picking up a leather guitar strap creaking.
It's damn hard to get a good quiet recording hot off the floor in a proper studio, impossible in that setup! Glad our plans were for only one song to be recorded that way.
STarted arranging a new duet last night, Alternating verses of Amazing Grace and House of the Rising Sun done to the melody of House of the Rising Sun. I'm singing the House verses and Jessica is doing the Amazing Grace sections.
Also began working on another, Wayfarin' Stranger with a bridge of Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Except it has been changed to Ride low pink Cadillac. Sung in Bass.
Having a double bass player who can bow has opened up a whole range of interesting stuff! The fact that he spent 22 years as a CBC recording geek is an added bonus, bass is a new hobby for him, he is actually a trained jazz trumpet player, has a couple gold records!
I've learned more about music in less than a year with this new band than the previous 35 years! I started playing guitar when I was 7 after my mom walked in on me playing the into of Bach's Toccata & Fugue on my grandmothers pump organ! Asked my what I wanted to play and I said guitar. I inherited that organ! As well as my Great Uncles vintage Gibson SG delux with a bigsby trem.

If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Lost With You Bojangles by Mercy Steelwood with Jessica R-J, Folk music from Peterborough, ON, CA on ReverbNation

If you listen to Dance Me you can hear the difference in recording, that one was done hot off the floor, no where near as nice and balanced a mix.

Even a digitally remastered cd sounds bloody awful! MP3 or any other compressed format is even worse.
If you can't tell the difference you have a tin ear and are probably wasting money on any kind of quality audio equipment!
Even the sample rate people choose to record at makes a huge difference to the sound quality.
Recording at "cd quality" gives you a flat lifeless sound, too many harmonics are lost.
There is a huge difference between having music on and actually listening to music. 99% of the people out there have never listened to music, if they had we would be insisting on better a better quality lossless format.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

You're all just being picky. I like music. If a song is good I listen to it... Nothing like picking music apart so much you can't even find the joy in finding new music. Bottom lIne is... This is where it's at. Get over it. I'm not just some schmuck either ok? I've been playing guitar since I was 8. I've played in many bands, done recording myself and even build guitars these days, so I do have some idea what I'm talking about. Stop tearing audio apart and friggin enjoy it lol . Thanks
