So how did you make with what you could save from it ?
Did you take the motor apart and the wire shielding off the wires,
And clean it all out and soak it in WD 40 ?

How about all the other stuff,
Did you test anything out yet to see what still works motor, esc ,cells ?

Then he preceded to take a bite out of it. In last pic you can see where his upper left tooth bit thru cowl and where his upper right tooth slid down side of cowl and scratched it. In second pic you can see bottom of boat where his lower jaw tore up the bottom of boat and put cracks in side when he bit. First pic shows inside of sponson cracked from when he chomped down on it........

I am just glad to get it back. I can repair the damage to the hull from him chewing on it. I'm more worried about my electronics. Here's a few pics if anyone can tell by looking at them if their shot.......

Servo was fried,ESC went up in smoke when I plugged it in to power. I took the motor apart and the wire lead covers off the day it happened and soaked them in Corrosion X for three days. It is working fine. I have not checked the two lipos yet. Although they appear to be fine with no swelling. I am waiting on new ESC,servo and also ordered a Neu/Castle 1515 2200kv motor coming. So to answer your question Lenny lost everything but motor.
I did get the hull all fixed and repainted.

You are quite efficient with the hull repair, Kudos man. Sorry to hear your electronics did not survive. I was going to post what to clean it with but, I was too late, sorry. I don't know what you used on the esc but, I would have used 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, taken off the heat shrink and checked everything then once it looked o.k. add Corrosion block.

Please don't swim with the Gators anymore, we want you around a long time.

Lol yes Ray. I now have one of my Redfish poles handy with a tennis ball attached to end of my leader. This will be the only recovery method I use in future...... I did about that with ESC. I removed heat shrink day it happened. Soaked it in Corrosion X then let it hang dry a day. Plugged it in next day and poof. God I hate the way a burnt ESC smells. Just awful....

Hull looks good and I bet now it is stronger than before, I agree, you did a killer job on it. Too bad CA is too far or I will send mine in for repair as well.
Are you going to stick with the motor or get something with a higher kv?

I just installed a new 3/16 OSE flex shaft in mine....used the stock strut as well and it fit perfectly. The only reason I'm switching is so the prop shaft will be longer, allowing for installation of larger, more aggressive props. The stock one was not allowing any room for a nut to hold the prop on.

I had switched over to a 3/16 as soon as I got the boat .... I can see where u wouldn't be able to run bigger props with the short shaft that came with it....it was just that I don't like 2 peace shafts not cause I am so smart lol....hows the hard water up there? any breaks yet?

Ran the Popeye, tried a straight turn fin, with mixed results, work in progress...
Seems the boat hops and is not the usual left-right-left sponson hydro dance, if you know what I mean. My last video show a bit but now there is a bit of wind and the chops are loosening the boat nicely. Is it possible the curve on the UL-1 fin causes some lift? I had a BBY that was cured with a straight fin, no more L-R-L dance on the sponsons.

This the clip with the UL-1 fin. The straight fin did not come out on video.
Is it normal to hear the hull slapping on the water? Speed is approximately 55mph as confirmed by someone's radar gun. I think if I were more knowledgeable pushing another 4-5 mph is possible.
