It like I had said before; where its made doesnt dictate the quality, the thought put in the design does.

Its brand new directly from LS. What do you mean race wind, they only have the 650kv. Let me know what you mean. Mike

My bad, was just responding to your plaintive cry. Not available yet, but if you are current with this thread, the next iteration higher wind ("race")version is in testing and expected soon...

Xfactor, I looked on my Castle boat and airplane controllers and the fets have no numbers on the side facing up.

I love the way it feels when you turn it. Checked the can for play there was none she was as snug as a bug. I cant wait to get this thing in the boat. Would these motors be suitable for 12 volt systems pushing 4 to 4-1/2in props, 50 to 60lbs scale boats?

Yes I think it would be great in a Tug or simular

I think the only drawback would be the amp draw. My monster scale motors (2lbs) draw something like 5-10 amps max. So with these you would have loads more power but you would need something more than gel cells to power them.
I am picturing your 65lb Mr. Darby planing out across the bay:-)

The gel cells I'm planning on using are 50 to 60amp. Also how'd you guess it was a Darby? Also looking to get the Harbor Model Invader Tug.

I don't know, big motor, big hull, I am a Darby fan too. That invader tug would be a mean setup too. It would be well suited overpowered.

I was gonna put one in my 1/8th scale Circus build, but it just seemed like a LOT of motor, lol. Looks good, I love that motor mount! Mike
